Dallas’ own Lisa Loeb’s “Stay” comes in at 93. That’s still a fun song to sing along to. I think she was the one that started me on the trend of liking girls with glasses – and look at me know, married to a one-eyed wife with glasses. 🙂

Six years ago today – my first date with my future wife
Six years ago today (and it was even a Friday) I went on my first date with WifeGeeding, who at that time I guess was just Hot Mysterious Chick With Glasses. I can remember it as if it was yesterday.
I actually met her the day before at a Mavs game. I had court side seats, and she was a Mavs dancer. The Cavs called a timeout, and she was performing a routine on the floor that involved one of those head shake moves. I guess she whip her neck a little too fast as her glass eye came ejected and slid across the floor and landed at my feet. Being the gentleman that I am, I placed it back into her ocular cavity much like Prince Charming did with the glass slipper to Cinderella. Ahhh yes, I remember it just like yesterday . . . or I bought a lot of $8 Mavs tickets for my church friends, one of which brought her roommate which happened to be my future wife who would normally not go to a night event since her routine was to go to bed at 8:45 PM, we sat next to each other and totally connected and by the grace of God she dropped her guard and gave me her digits.
The next day we went to Stonebriar Mall in Frisco to go ice skating. She laughed her rear end off as I was on mine all night. We ate at Chick-fil-A and later watched TV at her apartment. The entire night was a total Dutch Date, she paid for her stuff and I paid for mine seperately. Now I do my best to pay for eveything and the only Dutch she gets is the oven from time to time.
Maybe I’ll take her back to Stonebriar tonight. I’m going to stay away from ice skating, but I think I can at least buy her dinner.
