Wowzers! Holy Snikies!
My 11th Christmas card came in the mail today from the Turkeys at Gobble Hollow (Forestburg, TX), and it was attached to this very large red box.
After removing the red packaging, I found it decorated with pictures from the BONÂ – even pics of DogGeeding and OtherDogGeeding.
Upon opening the box, we found it was very carefully packaged and there were items for me, WifeGeeding, and the doggies.
It turns out that DogGeeding got a little treat that we made sure he shared with OtherDogGeeding. By the way, DogGeeding is almost fully recovered from his surgery.
It turns out that WifeGeeding received a very special oriental egg.
And I received two very special ornaments that immediately were placed on our tree.

So that’s five cards from Texas, two cards from NY, and one from North Carolina, New York, Indiana, Illinois, and Canada. Â
With a total of 11 cards, that’s $11 I’ll donate to help fight lupus.
A small recap of the experiment of me trying to see if any of you are willing to send me a Christmas card:
Option 1: You can make a direct donation to the Lupus Research Institute in memory of Kim Geeding. Have the acknowledgement sent to my address, and I’ll consider that my Christmas card. I’ve done some research, and out of all the lupus organizations I feel most comfortable with the Lupus Research Institute came out on top.
Option 2: If you just want to send a card and no money, then I will total up all the cards received before Dec 25, and for each card donate a dollar (up to $50) to the Lupus Research Institute. If you include any money, I’ll make sure to donate the funds directly to the Lupus Research Institute.Â

Two inmates escaped from a county jail, hiding the holes they made in the walls by putting up photos of bikini-clad women, officials said.Authorities searched over the weekend for Jose Espinosa, who was awaiting sentencing for manslaughter, and Otis Blunt, who was facing robbery and other charges. They also launched a review of jail security.
This year Beliefnet’s Most Inspiring Person Award goes to Dr. Liviu Librescu. This Romanian-born, Israeli-American scientist and educator was an engineering professor at Virginia Tech, before a gunman, student Seung-Hui Cho, killed him–and 31 others–during a shooting spree at the school last April. A Holocaust survivor, Librescu had barricaded the door of his classroom with his body and told his students to jump out of windows when he saw Cho was trying to make his way in. Because of his actions, all but one of his students survived the attack. Beliefnet readers overwhelmingly voted for Librescu, amazed by his heroic actions that fateful day.
