U23D – Dallas

I really want to take the day off work and catch the first showing on Wednesday morning like a silly teenage girl, but there are some folks that want to watch it with me so I’m going to hold off watching it until that weekend.  Who knows, maybe I’ll do both.

So if you are interested in watching U23D with me, WifeGeeding, and a few others, we will be there Saturday January 26 for the 12:30 P.M. showing.  I plan on showing up maybe about 45 minutes ahead of time to try to get a good seat – I hear that can be a challenge at the IMAX.

You can buy your tickets here; however, you will not be able to buy January 26 tickets until January 20 since Cinemark only sells them six days in advance.

The feature will last 85 minutes, and I might be willing to grab a bite to eat before or after the movie, maybe somewhere near Restaurant Row – probably Papa’s Bar-B-Q.  But then again, if I want brunch I’m probably going to have to pick another place.  Details to come.

Depp visits children’s hospital as Captain Jack Sparrow

sparrow052007.jpgActor Johnny Depp secretly visited London’s Great Ormond St Hospital yesterday to donate a million pounds to thank staff for saving his daughter’s life.

Depp arrived unexpectedly at the renowned children’s hospital where eight-year-old Lily-Rose was treated last year when her kidneys failed.

Last week he invited five Great Ormond St doctors and nurses to the party for the London premiere of his film Sweeney Todd.

And unknown to the public, Depp spent four hours at the hospital telling bedtime stories to patients dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates Of The Caribbean.

Last March, Lily-Rose spent nine days at Great Ormond St when E.coli poisoning led to the failure of her kidneys.

She is said to have contracted the bug while staying with Depp, 43, and her mother Vanessa Paradis, 34, in Surrey while Depp was filming Sweeney Todd.
