- That’s such a fascinating photo, it almost looks like something Norman Rockwell would have painted. Trump supporters would love it because it shows defiance. Trump detractors love it because it shows defiance. If I were a Rockwell, I’d name it “American Exceptionalism”.
- We might be in the market for a new SUV since our current one won’t pass inspection because of a check engine light which will cost about $2,500 to fix. The power steering also needs to be repaired and that will cost over a grand as well. We’ve enjoyed our 2009 Acadia as our second vehicle which is close to 160,000 miles. We only drive it about twice a week and when WifeGeeding visits her family in East Texas since our Nissan Leaf can’t make it there on a full charge. Sure, it would be nice to buy a new vehicle or something used with a lot of bells and whistles, but we can’t justify that kind of spending for something we only use sparingly.
- I can’t recall the last time I saw a U.S. Post Office employee deliver the mail in a uniform. Today, I only see them in casual civilian attire. When I was a kid, the mail was delivered in a Jeep, which I thought was cool.

- An under-rated feeling is going outside on a hot day and your body quickly adapting to the temperature. You know, when you first go outside and are shocked how hot it is and immediately start sweating, but then your body adjusts and you realize it’s not all that bad outside.
- Joe Buck interviewed Michael Irvin and asked what I thought was a good question for anyone, “When it comes to your life, would you rather have a pause button or a rewind button?”
- Other than traveling to neighboring China and South Korea, I really never thought Kim Jong-un would travel outside his country. Well, tells ya what I know.
- Meet the guys who tape Trump’s papers back together
- Armed with rolls of clear Scotch tape, Lartey and his colleagues would sift through large piles of shredded paper and put them back together, he said, “like a jigsaw puzzle.” Sometimes the papers would just be split down the middle, but other times they would be torn into pieces so small they looked like confetti. It was a painstaking process that was the result of a clash between legal requirements to preserve White House records and President Donald Trump’s odd and enduring habit of ripping up papers when he’s done with them — what some people described as his unofficial “filing system.”
- If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought the Triple Crown-winning horse and jokey were sponsored by China. When I see yellow stars on a red background, China is the first thing I think of.

- Yesterday was the last day of the school year for the kids and the first night of summer vacation was spent allowing them to stay up late and watch The Wizard of Oz on TMC. I started it with a trip to the doctor for a sinus infection.
- Amazing, and something I never thought could be done – Scorching-Hot Lava Evaporates Entire Lake in Hawaii
- Fiery lava from Hawaii’s ongoing volcanic eruption has completely evaporated the water from Green Lake, the Big Island’s largest freshwater lake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The assassination by evaporation began this past Saturday morning (June 2), when lava from Fissure 8 flowed into the lake and boiled the water away. The lake didn’t go peacefully, either. Rather, the boiling water turned into a thick white plume that reached high into the sky, the USGS reported.

- Religion News Service – Fewer couples are marrying in churches. Does it matter?
- The opinion piece points out the lack of church bells in churches nowadays, something so obviously true with all the modern church building but something I never thought about. My old church in Mineral Wells had a bell but I only recall it being rung once.
- Some folks tried to carjack a Nissan Leaf but they couldn’t figure out how to operate the car and as well as some other stuff.
- IHOP’s new name is confusing the masses. But for Arabic speakers, it’s always been IHOB.
- That’s because in the Arabic alphabet, no letter exists with a hard “p” sound, making it tough for Arabic speakers to pronounce the letter P. Arabs have worked around this issue with the closest alternative — the Arabic equivalent of the letter “B” (ب). Across the Middle East, Pepsi is known as “Bebsi.” Pizza is “bizza.”
