Easter Memory

My mother always use to give me a chocolate bunny for Easter, and it’s nice to know that WifeGeeding and SisterGeeding continue this tradition.  However, I had no idea that I would get a bunny about the size of my dog.

A Little BagOfNothing.com Tune-Up

I’ve done a lot of behind the scenes stuff, but here is a list of things you may notice:

  • Some web browsers will now display a favicon.  A favicon is that little logo or graphic you sometimes see next to the web address or in your bookmarks or favorites.
  • To try to encourage my readers to comment and come back and see what others may have said, there is now a Recent Comments section at the top of the sidebar that will display the top five recent comments.  I can change the number of displayed comments, but will keep it for five for now.  I also get a lot of spam and unwanted comments and will try my best to moderate it all and continue to keep this blog PG-13ish.
  • The Current Poll is no longer a feature since the upgrade no longer supports the code for the poll.  I was never good at keeping that thing current anyways, but may include more polls within posts.
  • Other items of the sidebar have been reordered.
  • No more Amazon.com advertising.
  • The search button no longer says “Go!” but now says “Find.”
  • The title bar (the thing that says HOME, HAOF, FAQ’S, GEEDINGOLOGY) now displays a little darker color for the page the user is on or on the hover.
  • The links I have provided in the past have been a light blue, they are now a little more of a darker blue to make things easier to read.

Two Videos for Good Friday

Everyone that reads this blog knows I’m no fan of Pat Robertson, but as I child I remember being mesmerized by a video that is always played on the 700 Club on Easter of a man talking about Jesus and sculpting a bust of him out of clay.  The sculptor is Gil Amelio and you can watch that video here.

The second video is a collection of scenes from The Passion of the Christ set to U2’s Until the End of the World which is a song about Jesus and Judas.

And here is another video with scenes from Passion but this one is mixed with concert footage of U2 playing Vertigo.

There’s No Place Like Home

  • After leaving Friday at 4:20 PM and traveling 2916.7 miles and spending a total of $448.09 on gas we finally arrived home around 1:15 PM.
  • We left San Diego yesterday morning right about 6:00 AM with plans to stay the night in El Paso, but since we arrived in El Paso around 5:30 PM we decided to keep on trekking and stay the night in Midland or Odessa.  When we arrived in Midland we tried three different hotels and they were all booked, same story in Odessa.  We were told that since gas prices are high that business is good and all the hotel rooms are booked by people in the oil industry.  With that in mind we ran into the same situation in Big Spring, but the reason all the hotel rooms were booked was because of a refinery explosure and all the repair folk are taking up all the rooms.  Finally we found an open hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express in Sweetwater a little after midnight and about 4 hours left to go on our trip home.  I was actually really impressed with this hotel and would recommend it over the Monte Crappo in Las Vegas anytime.
  • WifeGeeding really misses Disneyland.
  • I do find it interesting how I see a commercial in DFW and automatically think it’s a local business, and then I see the same commercial in California.  One such business is Empire Carpet.
  • It’s such a great feeling to come home and see our little fur-children.
