I’ve always wondered why more gyms don’t recapture lost energy
The Green Microgym — which is to open Friday in the eclectic Alberta Arts district of northeast Portland — is the first fitness center in the country to use solar power as well as human-powered cycling and cardio machines to generate renewable energy.
That thought usually comes to mind when I’m in spin class with about 30 other people and reminds me of this old SportsCenter commercial.
I apologize for the quality, it’s the best I could find.
Python kills Venezuelan zookeeper
A three-metre (10-foot) python has killed a student zookeeper who let the snake out of its enclosure in Venezuela while working a night shift at the zoo.
Horrified employees at the Caracas zoo discovered the Burmese Python as it tried to swallow its victim’s head, local media reported.
The co-workers beat the snake to force it to release Erick Arrieta’s body.
Marks on the biology student’s left wrist suggested the snake had bitten him before crushing him to death.
Hotel door hangers collected by my grandfather
When my grandfather passed away last year, my family gathered to go through his belongings. They’re really beautiful, in aggregate, and I wanted to share. Enjoy.
