Bag of Randomness

  • Cindy Crawford will be within a few miles of my house this Saturday, I wonder if she’ll stop by for a visit.
  • As you enter this church’s website, a video plays.  It’s very Blue Man Group-ish and a bit long for an intro video.
  • I know a lot people of faith are going to be offended by Bill Maher’s new movie or documentary called Religulous, but I also think people of faith can learn something from the perception of their faith from unbelievers and perhaps a way to address that perception from the movie, as painful as it may be to watch.  Movie trailer here if you are interested
  • In case you are wondering, she’ll be at the Rooms To Go in Grapevine.
  • This story about Jacksonville Jaguar Richard Collier breaks my heart.  Here’s the gist of it, he and a friend were waiting outside an apartment when bullets started flying.  I have no idea the reason why the shooting occurred, but to me that’s not important.  Fast forward a few days and you find that not only is he paralyzed below the waist, but his left leg was removed.  Imagine the overall dedication of conditioning your body day after day to reach the goal of playing in the NFL and then at a split second it’s all gone, and there’s no hope of going back.  Heartbreaking.
  • I had a very productive meeting with the Southwest blog staff, and you will soon see some of my material appear on their blog.  Developing.
  • I was a bit surprised to discover that this staff member knew of this little website before I even made that silly little video.
  • Worst job in the U.S. right now might just be that of Treasury Secretary.
  • I wonder what it will take for the Bailout Bill to pass.  I can understand not voting for the bill if you disagree with its substance, but to disagree with it because the Speaker of the House made some remarks about the current administration sure does sound selfish.
  • If you are interested in who voted yes and no on the bill, I thought this map from the New York Times was interesting.
  • This Final Four chart of banks is a bit amusing.
  • Hey, you can now get this book in paperback.
  • I’m not a fan of celery.
  • The woman running against Joe Biden for his Senate seat is a bit of a Palin look-a-like.  Link
  • I wonder why Palin wouldn’t just name one newspaper.  Link
  • I was too lazy to get up from my Lazy Boy to find the remote and change the channel when Dancing With The Stars came on, and then it got worst, Jessica Simpson started to sing.  Not only do I think she was lip-synching, but she “over sings” wayyyyy too much.
  • Europe loves bacon and burgers.
  • Friday Nights Lights comes on tonight on DirectTV 101.
  • I heard Tank Johnson on the radio say that playing volleyball helped him get stronger hip strength which aids him as a nose tackle.
  • September sure did fly by.

Judge Wapner Thoughts

The other day Judge Wapner came up in conversation, and it made me wonder if he was still alive.  It turns out he’s still alive, and at 88 years of age he appears to be doing pretty well as evidence in this Fox Sports spoof he did last month.  I thought it was funny, especially the references to A Few Good Men and My Cousin Vinny.
