Bag of Randomness

  • Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys will pull random kids out of the crowd to be an honorary water boy.  That’s pretty cool.
  • Speaking of Dallas Cowboys, I have seven Party Pass tickets.  I plan on selling some of them.
  • Remember that Cronkite special I mentioned last week?  I keep thinking about his perspective of the JFK assassination.  He stated he wanted to go on the air right away when he heard the news, but couldn’t, because none of the cameras were one and they took 20 minutes to warm up.  So the best they could do is to put up a CBS News banner and do a quick audio break-in.  From that moment on, they always made sure to have a camera on.
  • Sunday was the 100th birthday of the Lincoln penny, so I found reading this Time article, but this part of the article stood out: While federal law states that coins are legal tender, it does not compel anyone to accept them. If a business doesn’t want to take pennies — or a $100 bill, for that matter — it has a legal right to refuse them.
  • A couple that had a long-distance relationship honored Southwest Airlines at their wedding.

  • This heckler actually cracked me up because he’s such a jerk, but in a way, I kinda felt for the guy talking.

  • One time I would like to see a major corporation come out with a press release stating that quarterly earnings were $5.27.  You always see earnings or losses in the millions, but I think it would be funny just to see a Fortune 500 company make a profit or even a loss of a small amount.
  • About ten years too late for a name change, but Radio Shack is changing their name simply to The Shack.

  • If I happened to be on an airplane flight and something crazy happened, I would totally video the even and make it a BoN exclusive.
  • But I hope that never happens.
  • I’m still in the doldrums by the way.
  • But I tell you one thing that makes me happy, pre-shave oil.  It’s amazing how much of a better shave and feeling I have using that product.  It makes me want to shave more often.
