Last year I made a post about another blog called Stuff Christians Like. That site has become so popular that a book is about to come out.
But today I found a very similar blog called Stuff Christian Culture Likes. Yes, it’s a very similar blog, but the author doesn’t avoid the comparison and even addresses the like blog issue. All in all, I think I prefer the Stuff Christian Culture Likes blog better, her perception and humor is a little more towards me liking.
It’s no secret that as I look back at my past, one thing that really bothered me was how people in the church tried to live up to a perception instead of being really sincere of who they are. I was one of them. So as I check out this blog, I’m able to laugh at who I was, and who I am, and feel a bit more grounded. I hope no one is taking this as an attack on Christians or Christian culture, that’s not my intent, and I don’t think it’s the intent of the authors of these two blogs; but rather look at it as an opportunity for how Christians are viewed by many people outside (and even inside) the church.
