21 Years Ago We Lost Him Henson
Always Finish the Race
If there’s one post I want you to check out today, it’s this one.
My pastor showed us this video yesterday and I’m surprised I’ve never come across it before considering the amount of time I spend on the Internet, but it’s almost three years old. So if you’ve already seen it, I’m sorry, but I think you’d like watching it again.
Just to set things up, this is video taken from the Big 10 Indoor Track Championship back in 2008, and the even is the women’s 600 meter, meaning they have to run around the track three times. Pay particular attention to what happens at the close of the second lap.
It also made me think of this most precious of Olympic moments. It makes me cry almost everytime, and makes me want to be that kind of father.
Armless Man’s Goal: Throwing First Pitch At Every MLB Park
Tom Willis is not like most people. He has no arms but he has thrown the ceremonial first pitch at nearly a dozen MLB ballparks since 2008. Willis, 52, hopes to throw the first pitch of a game in all 30 MLB stadiums, as part of his Pitch for Awareness Program, which includes a motivational speaking tour to schools and other organizations across the country.
