Diver Bill Warren on a mission to find Osama bin Laden’s body

AN eccentric California salvage diver is preparing a mission to the north Arabian Sea to recover Osama bin Laden’s body as proof the al-Qaeda leader really is dead.

Bill Warren, 59, has vowed to scour the sea bed to find the corpse and deliver photographic evidence that the terror leader was killed, the New York Post reported.

Mr Warren, who has discovered more than 200 undersea wrecks, told the Post he was taking on the mission to expose the truth.

“I’m doing it because I am a patriotic American who wants to know the truth. I do it for the world,” he said.

Mr Warren said he expected to spend about $400,000 on a two-week jaunt next month. He planned to rent a ship in India for $10,000 a day, and spend another $1000 a day for a remote-operated submarine.

Perry has not overburdened the collection plate

AUSTIN — Gov. Rick Perry has never been shy about putting his faith on display, from speeches at prayer breakfasts to his 2005 signing of abortion restrictions into law at a church school’s gym to inviting the nation’s governors to a prayer meeting at Houston’s Reliant Stadium that some are calling “Prayer-a-palooza.”

But when it comes time to giving, the governor doesn’t come close to the biblical guidance of tithing.

From 2000, when Perry became governor, through 2009, he earned a total of $2.68 million according to his tax records. Of that amount, he gave half a percent to churches and religious organizations, or $14,243.

By comparison, Americans averaged gifts of nearly 1.2 percent of their income to churches and religious groups from 2004 to 2008, according to Empty Tomb Inc., an Illinois-based research firm specializing in U.S. church-giving trends.

In 2007 — a year in which Perry reported an income of more than $1 million — he gave $90 to his church, according to the Perry family’s tax return. Twice since becoming governor, in 2000 and 2009, he reported no contributions to churches or religious organizations.

Dallas Mavericks Go Clubbing on South Beach With Championship Trophy

From the Miami New Times:

Well, insult has been definitively added to injury. After they stomped the Miami Heat 105-95 in game 6, the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks — and owner Mark Cuban — went clubbing on South Beach.

Yup. The same Dirk Nowitzki who was so coolly walking into the locker room alone after the Mavs clinched the title then stormed into LIV at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach with the Larry O’Brien Trophy, if we can believe the pictures being passed around Twitter. We don’t want to believe, but it appears we must.

Find a cushion if you’re prone to fainting. This is hard to look at.

What the hell is this? How does this happen?

“Hey, should we boo them out of the club?”

“Nah, let’s get our picture taken with them and pretend to be Heat fans again tomorrow.”
