  • I was listening to sports radio 1310 The Ticket yesterday and someone who works on Norm’s show mentioned he graduated from Hardin-Simmons.
  • I really don’t know what to think or feel about us losing that stealth drone in Iraq.  Edit:  I meant Iran.  I have to stop blogging so late at night.
  • I had a 14-hour day at work yesterday. That doesn’t happen often.
  • Speaking of work, I was the lone person in the office yesterday.  Evidently, I didn’t get the memo.
  • The radio had a small segment on what it was like as a child going through the Sears Catalog, perhaps better known as the Wishbook.  But I was actually reminded of an old Cheers episode of Cliff walking in all hunched over saying this is the worse day of the year for a mail man . . . Sears Catalog day.
  • While in the checkout lane yesterday I asked the cashier about his name because it was very unique and sounded pretty darn cool, but I can’t remember what it was.  He told me it was an African name that is given to a child after the first child has died.  I think that puts some sort of downer on the child for life.  Maybe.
  • Hat-tip to my friend Andy who posted that Runners World has a calculator for your daily calorie needs.  All you have to do is enter your height, weight, age, and gender, and it calculates how many calories you burn, and it even calculates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), which is how many calories you need just to stay alive with no activity whatsoever.
  • The Mythbusters actually came out in public and apologized, good for them.  I had no idea that Adam was married with children.
  • WifeGeeding just settled for the real thing: Artificial replicas of pregnant women’s abdomens, made of silica gel, have become hot sellers on the online shopping market
  • I don’t look forward to seeing Pujols in the same division with the Rangers.
