News Front Pages about 25-minutes after the Supreme Court released their opinion

Right after the ruling was announced CNN jumped the gun with an incorrectly breaking news banner saying the law was struck down only later to have the same banner lead with “CORRECTION” and an updated statement.

Foxnews.com played it smart and was the most cautious with breaking news on their website, after 25-minutes after the ruling, I only saw the website updated other than the breaking news banner that said:  SUPREME COURT ABOUT TO RULE ON OBAMACARE — WATCH LIVE pic.  But after 30-minutes their website was finally updated with the ruling.  It’s good to report news quickly, but it’s better to report it correctly.  Good job, Fox News, good job.

Scientists Invent Particles That Will Let You Live Without Breathing

This may seem like something out of a science fiction movie: researchers have designed microparticles that can be injected directly into the bloodstream to quickly oxygenate your body, even if you can’t breathe anymore. It’s one of the best medical breakthroughs in recent years, and one that could save millions of lives every year.

The invention, developed by a team at Boston Children’s Hospital, will allow medical teams to keep patients alive and well for 15 to 30 minutes despite major respiratory failure. This is enough time for doctors and emergency personnel to act without risking a heart attack or permanent brain injuries in the patient.

  • Summers in Texas means never having to move the air temperature setting from its coldest setting.
  • I keep getting postcards and emails from the university where I obtained my bachelor’s degree asking me to verify my contact information.  Heck, I have no idea how they were able to keep track of me from all the different places I’ve lived over the years and I’ve been trying to get off their mailing list for a while now.

  • I’ve noticed in my area of DFW that breastaurants have been on the rise and now Texas Monthly has an article about it.  Two things sort of stood out:
    • “the nation’s top three ‘breastaurant’ chains behind Hooters each had sales growth of 30 percent or more last year.” One of those establishments, Addison-based Twin Peaks, saw sales increase to $44 million, a 35 percent jump from the previous year.
    • Rod Lynch, the CEO of the Tilted Kilt, says the eatery’s success is not only about sex appeal, but is based on the 360 experience and that they are popular with entire families. “We want to be very PG-13,” he told Choi, who wrote that the establishment’s “‘class in all things’ motto also means servers can’t have tattoos, piercings or dyed hair.”

  • Presidential Cookie Bake-Off – Michelle Obama has the white and dark chocolate chip cookies (which is probably some kind of symbolism about her husband) and Ann Romney is showcasing the M&M cookie.
