BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (KTLA) — The driver of a hearse heading to a funeral with a body in a casket was found dead behind the wheel of the vehicle Monday afternoon near the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Beverly Hills police responded to a call reporting the hearse about 3 p.m., where it was parked near the hotel on Crescent Drive, just north of Sunset Boulevard. A passerby reported a person slumped behind the wheel, according to a statement issued by department officials.
Officers determined the deceased driver to be a woman. No foul play was suspected in her death.
Saudi Arabia plans women-only city
Saudi Arabia has decided to approach the problem of women and Sharia law in a novel way: plans are afoot to construct an all-female city, geared towards working women, reported RT.com.
The city is slated to be built in the eastern city of Hafuf, and is slated to create around 5,000 jobs in a variety of industries. Women will be in leadership roles.
According to RT, the Saudi Industrial Property Authority, otherwise known as Modon, is behind the (rather inefficient-sounding) scheme, which hopes to finally use the capabilities of women to improve Saudi Arabia.
