  • I’ll make a quick “30 Rock” and “Parks and Recreation” observation . . . If Liz Lemon and Kenneth Parcell had a daught, it would be Leslie Knope.  And just as annoyed as I was with Tracy Jordan, I grew to really appreciate his role in the show, and that has also happened with Tom Haverford.
  • It’s take a while, but I’ve finally started to look at the high chair strap buckle before taking it back to a table when we go out an eat.  I’ve had some bad luck in carrying a high chair back to our table only to find out the buckle/snap is broken.
  • I may just be old fashioned, but I can stand seeing news anchors with messed up hair, I can’t take them seriously, and they look douchey.

  • I know there are readers of this blog that are reluctant to leave comments, and sometimes when they do, they choose a bland user name like “anon”.  I’d like to suggest you avoid such a name because it will likely go to a spam filter which no one will see, and besides, wouldn’t it be fun to create something out of left field?  How about something somewhat unique, or in case you need a few ideas . . . Bacon, Retired Pope, GMJerry, Burt Reynolds
  • I’m beginning to think the sequester may not be such a bad thing, especially if the Obama administration focuses on the most wasteful things, using their own example of taking a scalpel to the budget, instead of playing politics any hyping things up (though I understand there are some legislative constraints on what can be cut).  I also wish the Republicans would have been just as concerned about the size and role of government and debt during the W years as they are now.
  • There use to be a big problem with our youth wearing sagging pants, but someone came up with the great idea of making a guy named Justin Bieber into a big tween star and having him sport sagging pants, which makes it uncool, and now the problem is solved.  Whoever came up with that idea deserves to move into the next higher pay grade.
  • Most of the weddings I’ve attended in my life did not involve any alcohol, and maybe only two had any sort of dancing.
  • A couple in NY took a taxi to the hospital as the woman was in labor about to deliver their first child, but the taxi was in an accident killing the couple but the baby was delivered and survived.  Man, talk about a sad story.
  • The news of the Florida man being swallowed up in a sink hole while sleeping in bed was a bit funny, then it turned tragic when they acknowledged he could be dead, then absolutely macabre when his body became so far lost it couldn’t not be recovered and the house got torn down.  Man, talk about wrong place at the wrong time.

  • In China, the grass is greener, probably because they paint it.
  • What is it with New Orleans and moles?  That thought came to mind as I saw an Aaron Neville interview followed by a Drew Brees commercial.  Neville is now 72 in case you were wondering.
  • Per this article, Dallas couldn’t qualify as an Olympic host city because it doesn’t have enough hotel rooms.  But those of us in area know we think DFW, not Dallas.  If DFW were somehow able to host the games, I’m sure we couldn’t screw it more than the Super Bowl.  Well, I’m almost sure.
  • I tried Greek yogurt for the first time yesterday.  I didn’t much care for it, it seemed thicker and chalkier.
