- I may have eaten Papa John’s a total of three times, but since there’s a new store in our neighborhood and they have a 30-cent large one topping special, I thought I’d give it another try. For some reason I had the hardest time to get their website to accept the 30-cent coupon code, but eventually I got to order my two pizzas. When I went to pick it up they only gave me one pizza, so I told them there should be two and the employee apologized and said it would be just a few minutes. When he gave me the pizza I decided to do a quick check and it was the wrong pizza. He apologized again and after a few more minutes I got my pizza. The verdict, I’d rather have Dominos.
- Another big sing of aging – I think I’m older than every player in the Super Bowl, beating Manning by a year.
- The Texas Revolution is a local professional indoor football team. On Friday they’ll be holding a press conference announcing the signing of the first ever female professional football player (non-kicker), Jen Welter. She’s a bit of a “hey now“, and she ain’t no dummy either as she has a PhD in psychology. She earned the PhD through an online university, Capella University, for what’s that worth, and her dissertation looks pretty interesting – The Wonderlic Classic Cognitive Ability Test as a measure of player selection and success for Quarterbacks in the National Football League.
- A nice little bit of football trivia – Seattle and Denver are the only two teams to have met in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. When Seattle was in the AFC they played Denver in a 1983 Wild Card game.

- Ken Burns to Make Documentary on Country Music – I’ve never been a fan of country music, though I have an appreciation for it, but I certainly don’t like what it’s become. I think it started to take a turn for the worst sometime in the early nineties.
- I mentioned that I have a college friend, a mother of three, who is dying of cancer and about to enter hospice. Reading her latest blog entry I wasn’t aware that her husband lost his job once the year started. If you are the praying kind, do your thing. Please.
- Compare the size of Texas to other states and countries – BigOleTexas.com – When you put places like Alaska or Russia it mentions a Texan’s ego.
- I caught the beginning of ABC’s ‘Killer Women’ last night and caught a mistake in production. The show opened up with a robbery of a credit union, but you could see FDIC stickers prominently displayed. The FDIC is associated with banks and savings and loans, not credit unions, they should have displayed NCUA stickers.
- Spotify is thinking of using motion sensors and heart rate monitors to tailor playlists to your workouts, sleep schedules, and more.
- I have no idea what this chick is singing about, the video is cool as she gets photoshopped as she sings.

- Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger did another Reddit Ask Me Anything yesterday. He shared an interesting story on how he was trying to convince James Cameron to cast him not as the Terminator but as Kyle Reese, John Connor’s father. During that visit he told Cameron what the Terminator should be like and Cameron actually wanted to cast OJ Simpson as the Terminator. Schwarzenegger also posted this video where he dressed somewhat undercover as a manager of a Gold’s Gym and talked to people working out.
