- Have you ever had one of those weeks where the richest man in the world lords over a federal department your company has a contract with, and his actions cause them to use another strategy and exercise certain options in their government contract, resulting in you losing your private sector job? Well, that was how the week ended for me. Good times, yo. Hopefully, I can make the most of this opportunity.
- Thumbs up for America the Beautiful and the National Anthem last night. Trombone Shorty, now that’s a great nickname. I had never heard of Laren Daigle, but I liked her version of the song and really liked her fashion choice, especially the pattern. I did a little research, and that was a bit of a redemption for her. And just being a Stephen Colbert fan, I think it’s great to see John Baptiste.
- That blowout last night reminded me of the long streak of Super Bowls won by the NFC, which I watched as a kid first exposed to the NFL. I didn’t root for either team, but I think seeing the NFC East once again prevent an AFC team from becoming legendary made it less painful. If you aren’t sure what I’m referring to, it’s the time the Patriots were vying for an undefeated season but had one Giant loss.
- Fox debuted a new sports bug, that center-graphic with the time and score, to mixed reaction. I liked how it always displayed the quarterback’s stats in each corner when their team had the ball.
- Samuel L. Jackson as Uncle Sam was a nice surprise.
- I’m guessing the Harrison Ford Jeep commercial won the night because I thought it appealed to all American’s, but I guess someone will find something to be upset with.
- Not to mention, that was the last NFL team he interviewed with, and they didn’t hire him.
- I thought this was an impressive throw, considering he was in a sports coat and threw a dart.

- I wonder if Jimmy Johnson is going to retire from the Fox crew or if he’s dying, but the tribute was neat, and so was his emotional reaction. Here’s the segment in its entirety. The crew almost eulogized a living Johnson during the broadcast, reminiscing about previous moments they had with the coach. But you know, we as a society don’t do this enough; we need to give the people we love and appreciate their flowers now, when they are alive, instead of when they are gone and can’t appreciate them. I hope I reach this level of happiness and gratitude one day.

- Something overlooked because of the Super Bowl, 91-year-old Hubie Brown had his final television broadcast. Below is also a video of him coaching some youth in his prime. I underappreciated him.
