Truman left with really low approval ratings, but history has since been kind to him regarding his decisions.  Makes me wonder what historians will think of W 50 years from now.

    If we’re still battling insurgents in Iraq 50 years from now, my guess is that W will have surpassed Buchanan as to who was the worst President.
    Truman lost popularity because he intervened in Korea and because the post WWII American economy was struggling.
    Truman is famous for the Marshall Plan, the Berlin Airlift, Nato, the Truman Doctrine, integrating the military, the successful post-war democratization of Japan, for firing an insubordinate General MacArthur and most importantly for claiming that if government failed the people, the buck stopped with him.
