  • BoyGeeding received his yellow belt and DaughterGeeding received her orange belt on Saturday.  Personally, I think the instructor graded on the curve for BoyGeeding and some others.
  • “Mike” from ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’ made a special appearance on the latest episode of ‘Mythbusters’.  He also made a special appearance on last week’s  ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver’.
  • Somehow the song “I Don’t Know Much” by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt came up in conversation, which caused me to look up some stuff on Wikipedia.  I’m not sure why it surprises me, but Nevill is now 74 years old.  As for Ronstadt,  I forgot she’s suffering from Parkinson’s disease since December 2012, which left her unable to sing.  But I may have been more surprised to learn she was once engaged to George Lucus.  Furthermore, her grandfather made major bucks as he invented the first electric stove and the flexible rubber ice cube tray.
  • Aaron Neville is definitely in my top-five list of people in which you expect a totally different voice from their physical appearance.  Mike Tyson is also on that list,
  • Even though Disney didn’t provide a timetable, they did announce two massive Star Wars parks at both Disneyland and Disney World.  Star Tours is also getting a makeover.  The latter article also provides some details on a season makeover for both parks when the new movie comes out.
  • Earlier this month I mentioned that the owner of the escaped anaconda recently died and his family invited the public to a swimming party at the neighborhood clubhouse after the funeral.  Yesterday I learned his family has a GoFundMe page and it airs a lot of sensitive personal stuff:
    • The page is set up by the widow, but the material was written by her parents.
    • He committed suicide and they state he had severe addictions to drugs, alcohol, and gambling; and he left the family penniless and quit rehab numerous times.
    • He helped form a company but later quit as the CEO.
    • They state he abused his wife mentally, physically, and verbally, even trying to choke her to death, and ran from the cops fleeing out of state.
    • They claim his business partners are refusing to offer any financial help.
  • To be honest, I didn’t feel very comfortable posting all that stuff above, and I guess that means I probably shouldn’t have, but since they made that information public and I basically summarized it, well, that’s my weak defense.
  • Seventeen-year-old ‘Modern Family’ star Ariel Winter recently underwent breast reduction surgery, going from 32F at age fifteen, to a 34D.  Many might recall, Soleil Moon Frye, the young girl that played Punky Brewster, went from 38DD at age fifteen to a 36 C at age sixteen.  That PEOPLE magazine article states that boys used to make fun of her by calling her “Punky Boobster”.
  • Imgur – What being an adult feels like
  • Buzzfeed – Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker James Harrison Sent Back His Sons’ Participation Trophies Because He Wants Them To Earn “Real” Ones
  • People in Northwest Arkansas finally got a taste of Whataburger and they completely lost their minds
  • The Washington Post – Chinese companies face culture shock in countries that aren’t like China
  • Donald Trump was giving children at the Iowa State Fair rides in his helicopter and told one he was Batman.
  • Dale Hansen had an hour-long special in which he interviewed Mark Cuban, and Hansen asked Cuban about his Jewish heritage.  Cuban stated he had family, grandparents I think, that died in the Holocaust.  That made me wonder how improbable it must have been to imagine back in that time that one day a descendant would own an NBA franchise with a German as his top star.
  • A new Chrome plugin that allows you to watch a movie at the same time with friends across multiple devices.
  • ‘The Brink’ has been a very enjoyable watch.
  • It was a bit of a surprise to see WFAA on last night’s ‘Last Week Tonight’.  It was during a segment on televangelists.  Heck, Robert Tilton even made an appearance and he’s still at it. It’s more amazing these people actually have an audience.

  1. RPM says:

The Brink is greatness. Tim Robbins has to get an Emmy nod for comedy lead. He's crushing it. John Larroquette should get one for supporting actor. Brilliant.

We as a society should be ashamed we allow people like Robert Tilton prey on the weak and elderly. Kenneth Copeland's compound is an old WW2 seaplane base on the NE shore of Eagle Mountain Lake. It's shameful we allow them prosper off the weak and use religion as the mechanism of their wealth.

I'm no biblical scholar, but I'm pretty certain that's not WWJD.

Trump was obviously pandering to the peanut gallery giving helicopter rides to children, but I wonder if he really calculated the toll if there was a crash. I guess as long as nobody died this time it's cool to do as a campaign stunt…

Seriously, this is the decision making you want as leader of the free world? What if Joe Biden gave away rides on Marine 2 or Air Force 2? The natives would love the hell outa that, right?

  2. Ben W. says:

FWIW, rumor has the Star Wars lands opening around 2020. Predictably, I am thrilled with the announcement!

I was glad to see John Oliver take on televangelists last night. I was also glad to see when I went to his church's website that, while it is actually taking donations, those donations will be given to Doctors Without Borders. I expected nothing less.

  3. Deus ex Machina says:

Televangelists are the personification of "Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain".

  4. ALEC says:

Some of that GoFundme is getting out of hand. It appears that a lot of people (in this particular case) made very poor decisions and now their goal is to attain $250, 000 from other people. Chutzpa.

  5. Mr. Mike Honcho says:

Televangelists who prey upon the elderly and others are an abomination. I remember growing up my Dad warned me, "Be wary of any ministry that is named after a man." He was spot on with that advice. Although plenty of others disguise their fraud with "spiritual" names.

I cannot wait to visit the new Star Wars renovations in Florida. Me and the young Honchos are big fans and all of the resurgence of Disney/Star Wars has us pretty wound up!

As a woman, I'm a bit confused as to how a breast reduction caused an increase in Aeriel Winter's rib cage measurement. In chest/bra sizes the number is the measurement of the rib cage and the letter is the cup size. Did they fluff out her rib cage or did whoever released the press on the surgery make typos. I'm sure wife Geeding will back up my information.
