    • I repainted the front door, I’m now regretting my color choice.  The blue was suppose to be a medium kinda blue, but it dried to a light color, like I’m an Tar Heel or something.
    • I saw ESPN College Game Day was at North Dakota State University and couldn’t figure out why.  After a bit of research, that looks like one fun football team to watch.  They have a great indoor stadium called the Fargodome that is almost built like it’s for an Arena League, which means the crowds is really close to the action, and they have a great team introduction that is reminiscent of the Chicago Bulls in the 90’s.  Here’s the best video of the atmosphere of the arena and the intro I could find.  I think the best part is how they cut to a live camera of the team coming out of the locker room doors and following the coach leading his players onto the film.  If you are a fan of the excitement and passion of the college game, it’s definitely worth three minutes of your time.
    • With College Game Day set in Fargo, that meant Kirk Herbsteit had to fly to Austin after the broadcast to do color for the Texas/Kansas St game.  I find stuff like that kinda neat.
    • Even though I’m a University of Texas fan, I’m actually enjoying all the drama that’s going on in Austin.  I will admit that I never really understood the perception that it’s a very elite football program.  It had a great run under Darrell Royal, but as I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s they were just mediocre and I just backed them out of state pride.  As a fan I just felt lucky they had a good run under Mack Brown, so most of my life they’ve just been an OK program.  I guess as a kid in the 80’s and 90’s hearing about how great that program was is a lot like what a college kid is going through with the Cowboys – they always heard about the greatness but never really have seen much to back it up.
    • There’s no way I could ever feel sorry for Mack Brown, he’s a competitor and welcomes this sort of stuff, is loaded beyond belief, and already has a national championship.  With that said, I like the guy and hope he stays, and hope they can find an elite QB once again, something they’ve missed for a while.
    • Baylor may be embarrassing their opponents but they are embarrassing themselves with that powder-puff schedule.  Not to mention, out of 11 games this year, only four are away games.  Heck, even WifeGeeding, a Baylor alum with a lot of Baylor family lineage, stated that she’s happy with the improvement in sports but those scores are embarrassing.
    • I may have mentioned this before, but a Baylor Law class(9332 Wealth Transfers) is named after WifeGeeding’s grandfather, as well as a scholarship, and he was a trustee and former President of the Baylor Alumni Association.  His signature also appeared on the diploma’s, and he was fortunate enough to sign his own daughter’s diploma.
    • One argument about college sports that annoys me is that you can’t be a fan of the team if you didn’t graduate there, and that’s just silly.  That’s like saying a person in Alabama or Nebraska, which doesn’t have any major pro sports teams, can’t root for his state university because he didn’t attend classes there.  That’s like saying you have to pay (tuition) just to be a fan.  And I guess that’s another reason I like pro sports, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you, you can root for the home team just because they are your home team, and it helps bond a community.
    • As a very young child there were two things that turned me away from Texas A&M.  The first was their logo.  I remember being taught that we read left to right, so when I saw their logo, I didn’t think “A”, “T”, “M” made sense and that larger “T” just added to the confusion.  Also, I just couldn’t identify what an Aggie was, but I certainly could identify what a Longhorn, Horned Frog, Bear, or Mustang was.  Also, in high school I kept hearing how great their football team was, but they would always start of strong being highly ranked and then trail off towards the end of the season.  But I will admit, they are the best team in Texas now, and could still be in the National Championship Game at the end of the season if things work out right.
    • Tattoos may have become mainstream and commonplace, but that doesn’t mean I have to like them.  The same goes for Crocs.
    • There was an older man at church that wore an RBIII Baylor jersey.  I wanted to hit him over the head to knock him out and then load him in my car and drop him off at the nearest Baptist church.
    • I started to watch the British television series ‘Sherlock‘.  In the second episode one of the actors made the comment “Well, it’s not like it was Fort Knox.”  That got me to thinking was other kind of Americana is adopted by the British vernacular.
    • ‘Homeland” won Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series?  That show is beyond unbelievable and was absolutely ridiculous last year.
    • I thought Jeff Daniels was darn good, but not as good as Kevin Spacey or Bryan Cranston.
    • I bet a lot of very conservative Christians were ticked that a film about a flamboyant homosexual piano player beat out a series on the Bible.
    • It’s going to be a very television intensive week with all the shows returning.
    • NASA is looking to pay folks $18,000 to lie in bed for 70 days.
    • NFL thoughts:
      • As well as DeMarco Murray played, I thought in the first half he ran out of bounds quite early on a lot of runs.
      • Remember the controversy that Parcells and Jerry should have drafted Shawne Merriman over DeMarcus Ware?  Well, Ware just became the franchise’s all-time sack leader and Merriman had drug and legal issues and is no longer in the league.
      • It took until yesterday for me to realize that Jeff Fisher is coaching the team that defeated him in the Super Bowl.  I guess if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.
      • I was surprised after trading Trent Richardson the Browns would pull off a win.
      • After all of the hype of Colin Kaepernick and RGIII and how the running QB will change the game, it’s nice to see those guys brought back to Earth.  It’s like the media was hyping that a running QB was something new, as if high school and college football didn’t exist in the 80’s.  It’s not new, just back in style, and defensive coordinators just had to refresh their memories and tell their defensive ends and linebackers to either hit the pitchman or QB.
      • Joe Flacco and Colin Kaepernick are in a McDonald’s commercial that pays homage to that classic Larry Bird and Michael Jordan commercial.  I must have been in a fog, because during that commercial the lights go out before they can finish their competition and I didn’t immediately recognize it was referencing the Super Bowl from last year.
      • Seattle and Indianapolis are for real, but there’s no denying Denver as the best team in the league.
      • What the heck happened to the Giants?
      • It’s nice to see Alex Smith start off 3-0 with his new team after losing his job last season, and his old team is now 1-3.
      • The Texans tend to be high on themselves so seeing them humbled is a good thing.
      • I like seeing teams like Kansas City and Cincinnati do well.
    • ‘Breaking Bad’ thoughts:
      • Nice misdirection at the beginning of the show with Saul.  But I think relocating Saul to Nebraska was a bit too close to Albuquerque, it’s just two states over.Marie went from feeling invincible to unprotected and violated in one afternoon.
      • Skylar certainly got Todd’s message.
      • Nothing turns Lydia on more than “92%”
      • That had to be the most uncomfortable ride to New Hampshire in the history of ever.  I’m guess he even had to potty in that propane tanker.
      • When Jessie was using that paperclip, this was the first thing that came to mind.
      • I wonder how many shots it took Aaron Paul to make that leap and hang on to the bars.
      • If Jessie isn’t on some kind of anti-depressant he needs to be.
      • Todd is such a gentleman.  He tells Walt he’s sorry for his loss, get’s lint off Lydia, and then tells Brock’s mom not to take a bullet to the head personal.
      • Hey, a Charlie Rose guest spot!  But that interview light a fire under Heisenberg, and the music that played along to it was perfect.
      • I’m guessing that’s all we’ll see of Saul, and of course next week we’ll see what happens to Walt, Skylar, Jessie, and Todd and his uncle’s gang.  But I hope to see how things wrap up with Lydia, and I expect to see Gretchen and Elliott Schwartz play into the last episode, and my guess that’s who the ricin is for.  How great of Vince Gilligan to pull one more unexpected storyline.
      • I doubt we ever find out who spray painted “Heisenberg” and I guess it’s not that important, probably just plain old graffiti.
      • Well, that’s it for BrBa cliff hangers.  No matter what happens to Walt, I just want a happy ending for Jessie.

Its very true the ricin may be for the schwartzs but I thought that perhaps he could manipulate them in some way to funnel money to his family since they cheated him out of it, and since it would be pre-crime, the feds couldn't touch it.

    – Didn't think of the Ricin for the Schwartzs. That's an interesting theory. Good call on that one.

    – I wondered the same thing on Jessie grabbing the bars.

    – As much as it pains me to say it, I haven't felt nearly as awed by the last two episodes as everybody else. However, Todd/Skylar and Todd/Jessie's girl sequences last night had my jaw dropped. Two great, shocking scenes.

After "Ozymandias" and its epic scenes, we needed this one to regroup and tie up loose ends, so it didn't surprise me that it was "slower" than the previous two. The scenes in the cabin were that of a delusional, pitiful person. It allowed the writers to remind Walt and the viewers that you don't just "get out of the meth business" and live happily ever after. And yet they had to somehow move Walter back into the action mode prequel they teased last year.

It's amazing to me that the final episode has so many loose ends STILL to be tied up. I think much will be left to the imagination even after next week.

I say there's an outside chance the Ricin is for the Schwarzes, I still think it is for Walt to use on himself.

Keith, stick with Sherlock…if you have read the stories, it stays true to them with some great twists. Cumberbatch is amazing, his Sherlock seems almost like a sociopath, and Freeman's Watson is very believable, too. The guy who plays Mycroft is the creator/producer of the series. And the Moriarty in this one is very good, too.

And if you are not watching "Elementary" on CBS (a new US take on Sherlock Holmes) they you should be too. Yet another take on the character but this one seems tragically flawed, and Lucy Liu is GREAT as a different type of Watson.

  5. Baylor Too says:

The ride to New Hampshire in the propane tank was the least believable portion of the show. Walt didn't even have an extra jacket on, and you expect me to believe it wasn't freezing cold in that metal tank, traveling 2200 miles??

Now we know that Walt is going to have to go back to the cabin to retrieve his money. How he makes it out of New Hampshire is anyone's guess.

Happy ending for Jessie? His girlfriend has just been killed.

And his daughter is proud of her school, her diploma…but most of all, HER DADDY! He was a great man who loved and helped MANY people!
