Can you spot the woman’s face?

It took me a while, but when I finally did, I’m surprised I couldn’t find it earlier.

Focus on the Family prays for rain at Obama outdoor acceptance speech

Focus on the Family Action pulled a video from its Web site today that asked people to pray for “rain of biblical proportions” during Barack Obama’s Aug. 28 appearance at Invesco Field at Mile High to accept the Democratic nomination for president.

The video disappeared from You Tube also, but is now back on the site.

Stuart Shepard, director of digital media at Focus Action, the political arm of Focus on the Family, said the video he wrote and starred in was meant to be “mildly humorous.”

But complaints from about a dozen Focus members convinced the organization to pull the video, said Tom Minnery, Focus Action vice president of public policy.

“If people took it seriously, we regret it,” Minnery said Monday.

Council orders destruction of noisy neighbour’s CD collection

MUSIC lovers were today warned to turn down the volume after a Cher and U2 fan admitted breaching a noise abatement order.

Karl Wiosna used to play songs by Cher and U2 so loudly neighbours could make out the lyrics.

Rhondda Magistrates fined the 44-year-old, of Phillip Street, The Graig, Pontypridd, £200 with £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

His stereo, CDs and tapes were seized and destroyed.

After the case, Rhondda Cynon Taf council’s Cabinet member for environmental health, Mike Forey, said: “We are committed to responding to the concerns of our community, especially when it comes to issues that affect their quality of life.

“In this case, the swift and effective actions of environmental health officers enabled the issue to be dealt with and I hope it serves as a reminder to others that we can take them to court and seize their belongings if they do not cease causing a nuisance to others.”

But defiant Wiosna said: “I didn’t play the music that loud and it wasn’t just Cher, I used to play heavy metal as well.

Obama Leads Among Christians

All types of Christians, according to a poll by the Barna Group, a Christian research and consulting firm. Obama’s adviser for religious outreach, Josh DuBois, e-mailed supporters with the findings.

According to Barna, Obama leads among 18 self-identified faith groups including Protestants, Catholics, non-Christians, athiests and agnostics and born-again Christians. McCain leads among evangelicals. Note: these descriptions don’t come from those surveyed; the Barna group asks a series of screening questions to get at the definitions of these tough terms.
