Heehee...that's great!
Isn't Mr.Pibb, now Pibb Xtra, really just a Dr.Pepper Wannabee also?
LP -
You made me do some research.
I first tried www.mrpibb.com, but that URL is no longer valid, it just times out. Then I checked out Wikipedia, and they state that Pibb Xtra was previously sold as Mr Pibb.
Some additional infor:
In 2001 a new flavor called Pibb Xtra was introduced with added cinammon and cherry flavor, replacing the original Pibb flavor in many parts of the U.S., although some regions had both variations for sale at the same time. Before the name change, Mr. Pibb's slogan was "Put it in your head" and the can featured an odd cartoon head drawn in a squiggly scribble style.
In 2005, Coke introduced Pibb Zero, a sugar-free version of Pibb Xtra, in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and St. Louis. Coke reports that there are no plans to introduce Pibb Zero to the rest of the U.S.
I like how the one on the right says "secret recipe soda"...obviously the recipe isn't that secret if everyone is stealing it from Dr. Pepper!
