Time names Bono, Bill and Melinda Gates Persons of Year

At Friday's photo shoot for Time, Bono said, "I'm experiencing an unusual feeling. I think it's called being humbled.

"For being shrewd about doing good, for rewiring politics and re-engineering justice, for making mercy smarter and hope strategic and then daring the rest of us to follow, Bill and Melinda Gates and Bono are Time's Persons of the Year," the magazine said.

I think it would be really cool if the cover had Gates with the Bono glasses on!

And I know Bags will not like this comment, but has there ever been a single person in the history of mankind more OVERRATED than Bono? Seriously!?!

I find your comment interesting. You know I'm a huge fan of the guy, and you know your comment is in an oppossing view of mine, but you go ahead an make it. Not sure what you MO is - either just trying to ruffle my feathers or just be extremely honest without any conern for a person's feelings. I expected such comments from some readers, but was really surprised it came from you. But, free speech is one of the many blessings I'm thankful for.

Anywho, a person that is able to make it big from the poor streets of Ireland, can still perform like all get out for the last 25 years, and use his celebrity to help those that are in dire need doesn't qualify as being overrated in my book. Overrated would be the likes of Paris Hilton and Britany Spears. Personally, I don't Bono is in the same category as them.

so let me get get this straight.

the Little Pastor totally stole the user pic you made.

you have been giving him free pub on 'The Bag'

he seems to vent or bash on the church but does it all behind his black veil. which sounds seedy. ministry shouldn't be a gimmick.

then he comes across here and asks you if you agree that one of your favorite persons is over-rated?

yup, this guy has issues. i pray for this leader of the flock - that God can call him elsewhere because his heart just doesn't seem right.

also . . .

being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize and being one of Time's Persons of the Year pretty much guarantees that you are not over-rated.

besides all the humanitarian stuff, if you have all of this then you are not over-rated: http://www.u2faqs.com/awards/

Yikes! Has a guy ever been so slammed in the BON comment section??

I don't deny the Greatness of Bono, I am a HUGE fan of U2, and most of their music. I should have explained my self a little better, I suppose. I mean overrated, because Bono(U2) has become so big, that every little thing he does becomes BIG news. Didn't mean in any way to compare him to the ParisHilton's of the world.

HA! That was a funny comments thread to read. I guess the LittlePastor better beware of Baggy's readers that are U2 fans. That or use better teminology.

Maybe instead of over-rated, you should have written "currently over-exposed?"
