While she waited for an ambulance to take her unconscious husband to a hospital in the early morning hours after Thanskgiving, Tiger Woods’ wife went into their Isleworth home, retrieved two small bottles of pain pills and said he had taken some earlier.

Elin Woods also tried to ride in the ambulance to the hospital with her husband, but the crew wouldn’t let her, saying this was a case of domestic violence — although officials later were confused because they uncovered no evidence to support that.

Those are among new revelations contained in investigative records released today by the Florida Highway Patrol following a public records request by the Orlando Sentinel.

Woods was injured in a Nov. 27 crash when he tried to drive away from his south Orange County mansion about 2:30 a.m. but bounced off two curbs, ran through a row of shrubs, hit a fire hydrant then crashed into a neighbor’s tree.

FHP ticketed him for careless driving, and he paid a $164 ticket.

Today’s records were peppered with new details:

•Troopers began searching for evidence that Woods was drunk or under the influence of drugs the day of the accident.

•Officers looked for evidence of domestic violence but found none.

•Elin Woods told officers she heard her husband’s accident, jumped onto a golf cart and went looking for wreckage.

•Officers calculated the golfer’s speed at 29 to 37 mph.

And, as if anymore proof is needed that a wild Olympic atmosphere permeates B.C.’s largest city, now there’s an apparent condom shortage.

That’s right. As you read this, an emergency shipment of condoms is desperately making its way across Canada to the West Coast city.

Health officials in Vancouver have already provided 100,000 free condoms to the roughly 7,000 ahtletes and officials at the Games. That’s about 14 condoms per person. But as of Wednesday, those supplies started running dangerously low.

So naturally, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS research decided to step and make sure there were no hitches in Olympic action.

“When we heard about the condom shortage in Vancouver, we felt it important to respond immediately,” said Kerry Whiteside, CANFAR’s Executive Director. The organization assembled three large boxes of about 8,500 condoms, much to the relief of libidos at the Olympic Village. They’re expected to arrive on Thursday.

Free condoms first started to be distributed at the Olympics in Barcelona at the 1992 Games. This appears to be the first time that a shortage has struck the Games.

A sheepish Moeller, 28, explained: “The photographers wanted us to bite into our medals at the presentation ceremony. And a corner of my front tooth broke off.”

“It wasn’t too bad and it didn’t hurt,” added Moeller, saying that it had happened before to him at home.

“But it is annoying when you can’t smile as you normally do. And because I want to have nice pictures and happy memories of my Olympic Games, I went to the dentist to get it repaired,” he said.

Though not mentioned in the decision, former college football star and outspoken Christian Tim Tebow has been credited by numerous media and bloggers as having had an influence on the move – dubbed by some already as “The Tebow Rule.”

Though hundreds of college players use their eye black to express themselves, Tebow’s use of the glare reducer had drawn notably attention over the past two years as it touted verses in the Bibles. It became especially prominent the college football season before last as he marched his team toward their second BCS championship in three years.

I think the article focuses too much on Tebow, almost portraying him like a victim.  I read several things about how the NCAA was worried about the image of gang influence, and how many players represented where they came from by writing their area codes on their eye black among other things.  I’m not saying that the decision was not influenced by Tebow’s action, I just don’t like how they article has the world is against believers approach.

Of course it’s Photoshopped, but I found this video of capturing the picture of the bear quite interesting. I’m a bit shocked at just how large the bear is, and how playful his trainer is with him.

The former Florida quarterback and his mother will appear in a 30-second commercial during the Super Bowl next month. The Christian group Focus on the Family says the Tebows will share a personal story centering on the theme “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life.”

The group isn’t releasing details, but the commercial is likely to be an anti-abortion message chronicling Pam Tebow’s 1987 pregnancy. After getting sick during a mission trip to the Philippines, she ignored a recommendation by doctors to abort her fifth child and gave birth to Tim.
