Juice brand Tropicana wanted to highlight the fact that it played an important role in the morning ritual of millions of Canadians, to coincide with the launch of its newest juice, Tropicana Essentials, with added calcium and vitamin D.

The brand wanted to elevate its role beyond simply being a brand of orange juice and increase loyalty amongst its consumers and become Canada’s National Provider of Brighter Mornings.

In order to do this, Tropicana spent a month in Inuvik, one of the country’s northernmost towns, during the coldest and darkest days of the winter. The 3,500 residents of the Arctic town in the Northwest Territories live without a sunrise for several weeks every winter. Tropicana literally brought a brighter morning to Inuvik with a giant artificial sun that emitted 100,000 lumens of light. A team of Canadian filmmakers captured the raising of the ’sun’ in Inuvik for a series of documentary-style commercials.

The lights were affixed to a 36-foot wide helium balloon which then rose and illuminated the town. The Tropicana Brand’s ’sunrise’ coincided with Inuvik’s annual Sunrise Festival, which celebrates the return of sunlight after weeks of relative darkness.

The brand also provided 1,200 free cartons of Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice – one for every household in the community.

While she waited for an ambulance to take her unconscious husband to a hospital in the early morning hours after Thanskgiving, Tiger Woods’ wife went into their Isleworth home, retrieved two small bottles of pain pills and said he had taken some earlier.

Elin Woods also tried to ride in the ambulance to the hospital with her husband, but the crew wouldn’t let her, saying this was a case of domestic violence — although officials later were confused because they uncovered no evidence to support that.

Those are among new revelations contained in investigative records released today by the Florida Highway Patrol following a public records request by the Orlando Sentinel.

Woods was injured in a Nov. 27 crash when he tried to drive away from his south Orange County mansion about 2:30 a.m. but bounced off two curbs, ran through a row of shrubs, hit a fire hydrant then crashed into a neighbor’s tree.

FHP ticketed him for careless driving, and he paid a $164 ticket.

Today’s records were peppered with new details:

•Troopers began searching for evidence that Woods was drunk or under the influence of drugs the day of the accident.

•Officers looked for evidence of domestic violence but found none.

•Elin Woods told officers she heard her husband’s accident, jumped onto a golf cart and went looking for wreckage.

•Officers calculated the golfer’s speed at 29 to 37 mph.

He already has an airport after him — Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport outside of Washington D.C. And recently, lawmakers unveiled a statue of Reagan at the U.S. Capitol.

Now Republican Rep. Patrick T. McHenry of North Carolina wants to sub Reagan on the nation’s $50 bill for President Ulysses S. Grant, a union general during the Civil War who led the North to victory and later became the nation’s 18th POTUS. Grant, a champion for African Americans, died broke, so he probably appreciates the money. But if McHenry has his way, Grant will be retired to the dustbin of history.

“Every generation needs its own heroes,” McHenry said Tuesday. “One decade into the 21st century, it’s time to honor the last great president of the 20th and give President Reagan a place beside Presidents Roosevelt (on the dime) and Kennedy (on the half dollar).”

McHenry did not mention Reaganomics, the theory of trickle-down spending whose viability seems to be in dispute at the moment. The congressman’s case: Polls of presidential scholars consistently show Reagan outranking Grant, including a Wall Street Journal survey in 2005 that ranked Reagan sixth and Grant 29th.

I’m not sure if Sayid’s decided to follow NotLocke because he’s “infected” or because he was promised to be with Nadia again. If it’s the later, once again, women make men crazy.

NotLocke said “Hello Sayid” before Sayid stabbed him, which makes me wonder if speaking first saved his life (per Dogan’s instructions).

Sayid seemed to be a lot like Anakin Skywalker in Revenge of the Sith with his killing of Dogen and the John Lennon looking dude and his overall being played like a pawn and glazed emotions.

The boomerang was a nice gift, and I would say it was somewhat symbolic.

We met Sayid’s brother before in a season five episode when they were much younger and Omer was taunting Sayid for not being man enough to kill a chicken. I guess things are much different between the two now.

The loan shark guy that Sayid kills is a familiar face.

I did enjoy Smokey going postal.

There hasn’t been a significant death in a while, I wonder if that is going to change. Well, there was Dogan, but his character was short lived, but I have a feeling we aren’t done with him yet. Oh, wait, we found out Locke really died, so I guess that counts.

I did like how Dogan was trying to kill Sayid by sending him out in the jungle with that story.

The Dude had a interesting comment the other day that the flash-sideways is leading us to the end of the show, that since everything was reset, we are seeing how life would have been.

I bet next week we find out why babies don’t survive on The Island, and it all has to do with no one replacing the current leader.

I’m interested to see when we will see Widmore again. The same goes for Desmond. I wonder if Christian Shepherd will make another appearance.

Rio de Janeiro’s archdiocese is demanding unspecified damages and interest from Columbia Pictures for showing the iconic landmark being destroyed in a worldwide apocalypse in a film that came out last year, the archdiocese’s attorney, Claudine Dutra, said.

The archdiocese manages copyright issues related to the 40-meter (130-foot) high statue erected in 1931, which overlooks Rio with its arms outstretched.

Under Brazilian law, copyright resides in the author of a work until his death, and then is passed on to his heirs or estate or successor entity for another 70 years.

The Christ the Redeemer statue was created by Paul Landowski, a French artist of Polish descent, on commission from the Rio archdiocese and erected in 1931.

Landowski died in 1961, meaning the archdiocese holds copyright until 2032, when the sculpture becomes part of the public domain.

Stephen Baldwin of the famous “Baldwin Brothers” Hollywood clan is a veteran actor who has starred in over 60 films and TV shows.

In 2003, he had an experience that changed his life forever. He became Born Again Christian, giving his life to Jesus Christ. Over the next few years, he became very vocal about his faith, using his spotlight to boldly preach the gospel. However, because of this convictions it has caused him the loss of many jobs and the most recently, a highly publicized bankruptcy.

He has been publicly ridiculed and insulted by people who think that he has been abandoned by God. A simple search through the internet will reveal that people not only mock Stephen, but mock God.

In response to this (with the permission of Stephen’s ministry President Daniel Southern) we have established RestoreStephenBaldwin.org. A privately funded and managed website. Our vision is to see Stephen Baldwin publicly restored in front of millions. Stephen’s platform will increase allowing him to reach even more people with the Gospel and God will get all of the glory. Publicly.
