Today BagOfNothing.com becomes a teenager. Yup, I started this blog thirteen years ago today. In five more years I’ll have to register it with the Selective Service.
DaughterGeeding got braces yesterday. She’s still a child, but it’s a sign of her aging, which makes me a bit melancholy.
Today is the first day of school. BoyGeeding will be a first grader and DaughterGeeding a third grader. There’s been an unusual amount of rain the last couple of days, so I have a feeling WifeGeeding is going to have them wear their “old” shoes for the first day of school.
Today is my mother’s birthday, she would have turned 70. For a while, to honor her, I used to make a simple post asking my readers to honor my mother by reading, something she loved to do. Then it sorta hit me, by not making a full post, I’m keeping my readers from reading.
Several locals on a walking tour came upon a 20-meter (66-foot) section of crumbling wall, covered in graffiti, in June. The wall had been covered by overgrown bushes, which is how it had escaped discovery for so long.

If you were a fan of ‘Mad Men’, you may like the upcoming Amazon series ‘The Romanoffs’, which comes from creator Matthew Weiner and has a Christina Hendrix and John Slattery. It’s a modern day series and the characters all claim to be descendants of the Russian dynasty. Other cast members include Diane Lane, Amanda Peet, Aaron Eckhart, Kathryn Hahn, Noah Wyle, Andrew Rannells, and Paul Reiser.
A new series from Matt Weiner? Yeah, I’ll be watching that. The Audience channel (owned by AT&T?) runs episodes of Mad Men on Saturdays, and I got sucked in a few weeks ago and ended up watching parts of 3-4 episodes. Man, I miss that show.
