The kids both had a great day at school. And yes, they are both wearing the same style of shoe.
My kids are very lucky to have WifeGeeding’s sister as their aunt. She always calls the kids on the first day of school to see how their went. WifeGeeding’s mother doesn’t get a chance to call as the kids are anxious to call her as soon as they get home. It’s nice to hear them talk to WifeGeeding’s parents, it gives me a chance to imagine what it would have been like for my kids to have talked to my parents.
I usually don’t pick up the kids from school but I did so yesterday and let DogGeedingII ride along. BoyGeeding’s teacher from last year was working the carline and opened the back door but didn’t notice the dog right away, when she glanced back in she was so surprised she jumped and screamed and we all had a good laugh. DogGeedingII on the other hand had no idea what was going on.
I eat Vietnamese food only once a year, on my mother’s birthday. Each year I call in the same to-go order. They never give me the total, ask for my name or phone number, and never confirm the order, but always recognize me when I walk in to pick it up.
The TICKET had what I thought was a no-brainer hypothetical – would you rather be able to run 100 mph or fly at no faster than 10 mph. I didn’t even have to think twice about it, fly. Even though that’s a slow speed, it would be great to pick up a few items at the local grocery store and not have to worry about parking or be at events with a bird’s-eye view.
Sometimes when I start to overthink something I’m reminded of something a great naval aviator once said, “You don’t have time to think up there. If you think, you’re dead.”
Interesting aviation tidbit – The first commercial passenger airliner that was shot down by hostile forces was refurbished and returned to service; however, that plane became the third commercial passenger airliner to be shot down by hostile forces. The aircraft was operated by a Chinese airline, shot down both times by the Japanese, and both times piloted by an American.

I’ll second that: I’m not on LinkedIn or Facebook either. But so far as I can tell, that choice hasn’t unduly affected my career. According to some views, not being on those platforms means we don’t exist. But I learned once to never leave your wingman.
I, too am not on LinkedIn or Facebook. I have a cell phone, office phone and email address, as well as home mail delivery. If anyone needs to get in touch with me, they know how. Those that don’t know how to reach me, don’t need to.
Kids look great. My oldest grandson turned 20 years old this week. They grow up fast. enjoy them while you can.
re: Overthinking… When I start overthinking I remember that in 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.
I’m not on LinkedIn or Facebook, either. I’ve considered LinkedIn, but I’m turned off by the spam I get from it. (“Your LinkedIn invitation from so-and-so is waiting…”) Facebook doesn’t appeal to me in the least. I see zero benefit.

I get on Facebook a couple times a month to check on my 80something Aunt Susie in California. That’s about it.
