After 40+ years, they've got this down to a science. But I wonder what the contingency plan is in the event something goes wrong?
I took the 30 Rock tour on two different occasions, each will give you some good SNL insight. The second time they talked about the makeup process and showed a video of Bill Hader getting spruced up to look like some alien. The page stated the makeup is secondary, and if it's not done or if there's a mistake, then just go with that. The video showed how Hader went on stage with some green skin or scales not fully applied and just flapping away when he moved. It wasn't "bad", but noticeable.
Kate McKinnon is a national treasure.
