Empty Bag Today

Empty bag for two reasons:

  1. My concussion symptoms have worsened and I couldn’t even finish work yesterday. It hurts to stare at a screen, or any bright light for the matter. I get a periodic ringing in ear, nausea, tiredness, and my head just plain hurts.
  2. Today being the ten year anniversary of my mother’s death is hitting harder than I expected. It’s just weird I got the concussion on the ten year anniversary in which she had head trauma (yesterday) which lead to her death. I’m not trying to sound whiny or seek sympathy, but this is me trying to maintain consistency with being transparent about my feelings and struggles. She was far from perfect and exceptionally flawed, but she was my Mom, and I respect and love her more now after becoming a parent.

Note: In that picture, she made my shirt and her dress. Oh, and I’m sporting a velcro watch which contained a zipper pocket which allowed me to put money in it.

Don't apologize for your feelings. You don't sound whiny or like you're seeking sympathy. It's OK to talk/write about your feelings in any circumstances, especially on your own blog!

    Super cool watch!

I agree with Andrea, you don't have to apologize for writing about how you feel. You know, it takes a lot of courage to share your feelings with the whole world like this.

And I feel the same way you do, I grown to appreciate my parents much more now that I have children.

Take care of yourself and get well soon. And you don't owe anyone an explanation for sharing your feelings. The fact that your mom passed away 10 years ago is amazing to me. That was around the time I discovered your site and that dang sure doesn't feel like it was 10 years ago.
