  • I can’t believe Trump didn’t make one comment about Big XII expansion.
  • After his speech, I was expecting “I Am A Real American” to start playing from the speakers.
  • Ivanka Trump came off as very polished and poised. That has to be a very neat moment for both father and daughter to share. Politics aside, they should be proud of each other.
  • I expected Donald Trump to have a grander entrance, at least have the house lights cut.
  • After some reflection, I think Ted Cruz’s lack of an endorsement of Trump would have been more sincere (that’s not the right word I’m looking for) if he would have refused to make a pledge to endorse the eventual nominee.
  • I thought Trump played it smooth when the crowd started to chant “Lock her up, lock her up” and he simply responded by saying “Let’s defeat her in November.” It showed he actually has some restraint. And even though his LGBTQ line (“As a Republican, it’s so nice to hear you cheering for what I just said.”) might come off as disingenuous, that was a significant moment for the Republican party.
  • The first Trump -Clinton debate is 66 days away – September 26 at Wright State University.
  • A perfect score for a cardiac calcium score screening is zero, and thankfully that was the score presented to me after my test yesterday. I’m also thankful that my heart isn’t enlarged because that was actually a concern, for various reasons, going into it. However, they did raise an eyebrow that my resting heart rate during the screening was 90 beats per minute. Throughout the day it’s usually around 82, which is still high. High blood pressure appears to be the culprit and they gave me advice on how to control it, although you know that’s something I’ve been working on. While they didn’t recommend it, they said a cardio stress test should be considered to see how hard my heart is working. I may end up doing that before the end of the year. If anything, I’ve been “enjoying” being proactive about my health, give me further peace of mind and knowledge about the best way to prevent heart disease, and I just kinda want to see what it’s like.
  • I’ve always had bad feet. I seriously cannot remember, and this goes back to when I was a child, the last time I went to bed without my feet aching in some form or fashion. You name the shoe or arch support, and I’ve tried it, and visits to a couple of podiatrists haven’t helped. I’m envious of runners.
  • For the longest time, I’d confuse podiatrists and proctologists.

    • SHALIMAR — Two Okaloosa County EMS paramedics face multiple felony charges after an investigation revealed they used their personal cellphones to record and photograph patients inside ambulances as part of a “selfie war” competition.

Ivanka Trump is impressive. There is a quiet rumor that she is the driving force behind this entire show, and I can believe it. She seems incredibly smart, and without knowing her stance on any issues, I'm guessing she'd be a much better mainstream candidate than her father. Give her time…

Jon Stewart took over the anchor chair on Colbert last night and killed it. I'm surprised you haven't linked to it yet, but maybe you're wanting to spread out the quality content throughout the day. Shrewd, Geeding.

I feel very, very sorry for your podiatrist. Potentially shocking for that doctor upon entering your exam room.

Re: Cruz's pledge. If you remember, the whole thing behind the pledge was to force Trump to support the winner, because at the time, the GOP thought that he wouldn't get the nod. So Cruz signed it because he never thought he'd be supporting anyone but himself. Not the first time Trump has been underestimated.

Re:Ivanka. I would have thought more of the speech if her father followed it with SOMETHING substantive in his speech about his plans to back up her claims of him being a good leader. Simply stating "It's going to be GREAT and it's going to happen FAST" doesn't do it for me. Being the most impressive Trump is damning with faint praise indeed.

Re: LGBTQ "significant moment for GOP". This statement means nothing compared to the platform that the GOP ratified on Monday, where it advocated rolling back gay marriage. The GOP looks like an old white people's party when it comes to this. This is a boat that has sailed people. My son's generation considers LGBTQ rights as a non-issue (that is, they are for them), it's only old folks who are hand-wringing over it.

The Trump GIF is missing a Bible and an eagle.

    And maybe a rabid dog.
