This just adds support to the theory that Trump really had no intention of winning (and doesn't really want to). Why take the time to register correctly for the NY primary when you don't expect Dad to still be running in mid-April?
Alternate theory: they're both smart, and they don't want to vote for him but needed an "easy" out.
