  • I tend to not trust Yelp reviews, but I’m a big fan of Trip Advisor, mainly because there’s a lot of user submitted photos.
  • It used to be when I saw a headline with “Bush” in it, I knew it referred to the former 41st president.  When his son started his run for the presidency, I knew any mention of “Bush” referred to George W. Bush.  After his two terms, it was about a 75% chance when you saw “Bush” in the headline, it referred to the 43rd president.  Now when I see “Bush” it basically only is in relation to Jeb.  You kinda have the same problem with “Clinton” but to a lesser extent since you are basically only dealing with two of them.
  • By now it might be driving WifeGeeding batty, but I’ve been playing Florence and the Machine’s “Dogs Days are Over” everytime we get in the car.
  • WifeGeeding and I wanted to see Avengers: Age of Ultron last night and our only option was the AMC Grapevine Mills 30.  It’s been close to seven or eight years since we’ve watched a movie there, and to our surprise you could select and reserve your seats and they provide table-side dining, and it was great.  The seats were uber comfy and made out of leather, and while the food was a bit pricey, it was pretty good.  As for the movie, we loved it and was pleasantly surprised at how many characters they were able to fit in, though they should have included Agent Phil Coulson.
  • For the last six months or so, my left knee has had a sharp pain.  It’s not excruciating, but noticeable.  Yesterday, that knee started to make a grinding noise.  I’m about $500 away from my deductable, so I may have it checked out.
  • The promotional poster for AMC’s ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is a take off the Jesus footprints in the sand poem, me thinks.
  • U2 performed ‘Gloria’ for the first time in 10 years – Though Bono incorrectly stated it’s been 20 years.
  • The Times-Picayune – Bobby Jindal’s latest campaign slogan: ‘Tanned. Rested. Ready.’
  • Today’s dose of ‘MURICA!
  • US now has more Spanish speakers than Spain – only Mexico has more
  • The Chronicle of Higher Education – Why Is It So Hard to Kill a College?
  • A nifty article and interactive chart from The Atlantic – The Least Diverse Jobs in America – For instance, 81 percent of lawyers are white, down from 89 percent in 2000.  – I only threw the lawyer stat in there as click bait because I know at least five lawyers read this blog.
  • Make Your Own Supreme Court Decision (And See How The Real One Voted)Everyone loves a good 5-4 split. But how often do they happen?
  • Back to the Future remake? Over my dead body, says Robert Zemeckis
