  • I’ve given up carrying my wallet and instead use a CardNinja sleeve attached to my phone.  It’s been about three weeks since I started using it and it’s great, but with so many news stories about cards being hacked I almost want to use cash entirely.
  • Man, those ‘Modern Family’ kids sure are growing (especially the boy), and the adopted Vietnamese girl has only marginally improved on her acting.
  • Last night’s ‘Survivor’ had a local 20-year-old woman named Baylor.  That’s an odd name for a girl, and from my very limited research, I couldn’t figure out how she got her name.  Her mother attended Alabama and Texas A&M Commerce.  Baylor is  currently a college student in Nashville.  John Rocker was also on the show, and he’s much bigger than I’d thought.  WifeGeeding is convinced contestants are told what color clothing to bring because she spots a pattern every season.
  • I had no idea that Blue Bell Ice Cream could be shipped.
  • If you are going to vulgar, I guess you might as well go full throttle, and include a vagina sprinkler  – Texas Tech Fraternity Hangs ‘No Means Yes, Yes Means Anal’ Sign
  • The NY Times has a pretty cool tool that helps you to visualize language usage in news coverage throughout its history.  For example, here’s prohibition.
  • Here’s an article about the outside fence of the White House which was only put up 49-years ago.  The “openness” of the White House started to changed in the 1890’s when a group of strangers found First Daughter Ruth and started to coddle, kiss, and pass her around which freaked out the First Lady.
  • While reading an article about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I came across an interesting plan by Gov Rick Perry to amend the Constitution regarding Justices and terms, and I think it’s great.  Here’s the gist – 18-year terms staggered every 2 years, so that each of the nine Justices would be replaced in order of seniority every other year.
  • ‘The X-Files’ filmed in Vancouver the majority of time, and a kid once threw a message in a bottle which happened to be found by the crew who replied.  Man, I loved that show, and I still have a crush on Dana Scully, not Gillian Anderson, but Scully.
  • Buzzfeed – Christians, Let’s Be Better Tippers
  • Bill Cosby was on Colbert last night, and I’ve seen him interviewed by a few others over the last year, and the legendary comic just doesn’t quite seem all there.
  • I always had an idea of how the Big Bird suit works, but this GIF helps me understand how the hand movement works.
  • Texans Created Over A Thousand Local Businesses After Texas Eased Restrictions On Selling Food Made At Home
  • The Guy Who Turned Down $500 Million For His Startup Just Landed A $1 Billion Valuation
  • An article about what it would mean for our economy, politics, and healthcare systems when people start living close to 100 years of age.
  • I’ve noticed Letterman has been running from the opposite direction from across the stage before being introduced.  His musical guest was Paloma Faith who looked just like the vampire in that AT&T commercial.
  • This Bill Simmons and ESPN battle is going to be fun to watch, I feel like something is brewing.

  1. All clothing is suggested and approved by producers on Survivor. Some of the contestants complain about what they are forced to wear.

  2. Alex says:

I worked at Uncle Julio's and Chili's. I dreaded two Ft Worth events:
    1. Ft Worth Stock and rodeo show
    2. Baptist convention-usually held at TCCC; they are masters of the verbal tip!
Not only were these people cheap but demanding and rude.
