  • Ever since Diane Sawyer took the helm at ABC News I thought it started to get too emotionalized.  I recently found out their tagline is, “Why watch when you can feel.”  So I guess I was right.
  • DaughterGeeding is taking gymnastic lessons once a week and I caught one of her lessons yesterday by taking off work a little early (Yes, I work from home, but I have to be attached/available).  After every little exercise she always looked for me in the stands and eagerly waved.
  • Indiana girl signs to play college football at NAIA Campbellsville – We had two girls on one of our junior high teams, and to their credit, they stuck through the entire season.
  • There are some mothers that like to showcase breastfeeding so much that I tend to put them in the same group as Open Carry Texas.  Hey, I’m not opposed to breastfeeding, just a little modesty.  And I’m not opposed to guns, just not the abrasiveness.  But I’m sure no matter how much I try to explain myself on this, I’ve ticked off quite a few folks.
  • A friend recently asked me if my spouse goes to my doctor appointments with me as his always tags along with him.  The answer is no, but I do remember the first time going to the doctor without my mother having to drive me and feeling all growns up.
  • Clever – wet floor cones that look like banana peels
  • I was catching up on some episodes of ‘Louie’ and was quite surprised how much Charles Grodin has aged, he’ll be 80 next April.  Speaking of that show, it can be surprisingly deep and moving.
  • An astronaut that was on the International Space Station did a Reddit Ask Me Anything yesterday.  It turns out he’s really into fitness and recorded his squat max before lifting off.  After about half a year in space he came back to Earth and wanted to see if his squat max changed.  You’d think with the loss of gravity and not having to use force as much he’d lose strength, but he worked out so much up there that there was no change in his squat max.
  • With all the buzz of horse racing over the weekend I started to research Secretariat and watched a few documentaries.  It turns out that when notable race horses die, usually only the head, heart, and hooves of a winning race horse are buried (the rest of the body is cremated), but Secretariat was given the rare honor of a full burial.

My term to describe the softer ABC news style is Feminization.

If a woman openly breastfeeds in public, she might offend a few prudes, but people won't have to try to decide if she is there to kill everybody.

Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" episode with Louis CK is pretty good.
