I think Pope Francis is the best thing to happen to the Catholic church in a very long time. I'm not Catholic, but he touches me with his spirit and openness. It's almost like a Frank Cappra film.
I agree with RPM. This pope's humanity, humility, connectedness with his congregants and the public at large and especially his empathy for the least among us set him apart from any of the other popes in recent memory.
Tell me that he's hunting down evildoers within the church, supports marriage equality for all and freedom of reproductive choice and I'll vote for his canonization. Or would, if I were Catholic, rather than the agnostic that I am.
