I’m sorry for the technical difficulties yesterday, the sad thing is I have no idea what happened or how it was rectified. Not only didn’t posts display yesterday, but I was unable to create new posts and my image library was gone. I called my hosting company and they said from a hosting perspective was good and there was nothing they could do, but after I got back from lunch everything was back to normal. I noticed the posts did came through on my RSS feeder and everything was fine before I hit the sack last night. I’m crossing my fingers and knocking on wood this doesn’t happen again.
Dang-it, I used a double negative above.
The great Van Cliburn once played for LBJ at the White House, and actually played in LBJ’s tux because he left his on a plane.
The adopted girl in “Modern Family” did her finest acting in last night’s episode right when the credits started to roll. It was far from great, but it was her best performance.
“The Americans” was solid again, but I did think they stretched the realm of believably with that garage mechanic scene. I left the episode wondering if the husband thinks his wife is the mole. There’s a marathon this Friday for those of you that want to catch up, so set your DVRs.
I can only name one Chris Isaak song, and I’m sure most folks can do about the same.
My latest Netflix addiction is “Parks and Recreation”. The first season is a half is mediocre but it really starts to pick up.
Tyson Chandler had 28 rebounds yesterday. The Mavs made a boneheaded decision by not resigning him.
I think The Americans is about to step it up a notch. A second season is all but written in stone and they will be building more backstories. I still have trouble understanding the marital set up the Jennings have. But, apparently I'm not the only one.
I'm out on Modern Family. It's living off it's own hype. The Middle is much funnier, imho.
I watched Van Cliburn perform the National Anthem at Texas Motor Speedway. It may not have been Bass Hall, but it was no less impressive. My brush with greatness…
Parks and Rec hits its stride when Ben (Adam Scott) and Chris (Rob Lowe) join. It floundered but then all the stuff with Ron's ex (real life wife Megan Mullaly) and the Pawnee festival make it great.
Agree 100% about Parks & Rec – Ben and Chris added a great new dimension to the show. I, too, found Parks & Rec on Netflix about 2-3 months ago, and have since caught up to the current episodes. I needed something to fill the void left from 30 Rock. :-
As for Chris Isaak, I only know Wicked Game. And that's mainly because of the video, which left quite an impression on my adolescent brain.
I did the same thing in catching Parks & Rec on Netflix. It made me an Amy Poehler fan, although Ron and Andy are my 2 favorite characters with Aziz Ansari very close behind. I had a hard time liking Rob Lowe's character, but overall Parks & Rec ranks with the Office before it jumped the shark. (I do think the Office has rebounded somewhat this year.)
Completely agree on The Americans.
Modern Family imho is the best comedy on television, maybe ever. Some Gervais Office, Carrell Office, and Parks & Rec give it a run. Never watched 30 Rock, which I know you like. Comedy is hardest genre for me to find stuff I like.
Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, …, …, Dang it!
