Bag of Randomness

  • For the Super Bowl, I’d like to see the Harbaugh parents do the coin flip.
  • WifeGeeding expressed an interest in visiting Australia (good-day, mate) and when researching travel time, I found this article that states Sydney to DFW is the world’s third longest flight [only Newark to Singapore (15,327km) and Singapore to Los Angeles (14,09km) are longer] and it’s also the longest route in the world flown by Boeing 747 jumbo jets.  Actually, I think this is in terms of what Quantas flies.  And in terms of this trip actually happening, maybe after we win the lottery.
  • I believe the Rangers are still paying ARod, and if the Yankees are able to void ARod’s contract, will the Rangers finally get him off their payroll?
  • While listening to another Adam Hamilton sermon, he mentioned, in a much more eloquent way than I’m about to write, that as a practice in humility he parks in the parking spot furthest from the church, and it also allows him to pick up trash along the way.
  • Are the sprouts or the stem healthier in broccoli, or are they both equally the same?
  • If I were an Alabama player or even Ray Lewis, I think a good excuse for accidentally using deer antler spray is to say you confused it with you Axe body spray.
  • I’ve never watched the Dustin Hoffman film The Graduate, but I am familiar with that iconic scene of him in the background as you see a sexy leg put on a pair of stockings as his character says, “Are you trying to seduce me Mrs Robinson?”  I had no idea that leg belonged to Linda Gray, who only got $25 for that scene.  And for 72-year-old woman, Ms Gray is holding up quite nicely.
  • Tina Fey and Ty Burrell will be in the next Muppet movie.
  • The Mercedes-Benz Super Bowl commercial will have William Dafoe as Satan.  I find that interesting as he has portrayed Jesus back in 1988.
  • Speaking of Super Bowl commercials: Here’s SodaStream’s Super Bowl Ad That Was Too Mean to Coke and Pepsi
  • I enjoyed watching ‘The Americans’ last night, it has some real potential, and got a kick out of how Keri Russell was rocking the high waisted Guess jeans and the 80’s music.  I bet there is going to be a bit of a ‘Breaking Bad’ Walt/Hank relationship with the spies and their FBI neighbor.
  • 12 Photos of Presidents Packing Heat
  • Ronald Reagan’s Childhood Home To Be Bulldozed For Possible Future Home Of Obama Library
  • An ‘Entourage’ movie is getting closer and closer to becoming a reality.
  • Seven most dedicated employees
  • I’m gonna miss you, Liz Lemon. Blerg.

The Americans was great, really liked the soundtrack. I think you've nailed the neighbor bit.

  2. Rob says:

I think the Rangers stopped paying A-rod about five years ago when he voided that contract and signed his current one with the Yankees.
