  • My friend, Richard, has been telling me that Notre Dame was a soft number one for the past month, and he couldn’t have been more right.
  • One thing I’m not looking forward to regarding my surgery is the no food or drink after midnight.  I can handle no food, but not even having water is gonna be a challenge for me.
  • Hillary Clinton has visited 112 countries as Secretary of State.  I don’t think most of us could name 112 countries, and if we were to try, I’m sure we’d accidentally name a few cities instead of countries.

  • The last year the Cotton Bowl Classic was held at the actual Cotton Bowl was in 2009 , and the attendance was 88,175.  The 2012 Cotton Bowl Classic had an attendance of 80,956.  I can’t find stats for the 2013 Cotton Bowl, but it was expected to be close to 90,000.  Cowboys Stadium is expected to hold the innagural national championship game from the NCAA’s debut of the FBS college football playoff in January 2015, and I’m left to wonder if we can mess that up as much as we did the Super Bowl.
  • Speaking of Super Bowl, next year it will be New York out in the elements, that shall be interesting.
  • Hearing the news about the Aurora movie shooting testimony from police officers was a bit haunting.  Security camera’s showed the murder being polite and holding the door open for a couple as they entered the theater, and police officers testified that the floor was so bloody they came close to slipping.  But it was the part about them describing being inside a quiet theater with the dead and then hearing cell phones of the victims go off as people tried to get a hold of them that really got me.
  • I wonder if it’s quite common for authorities or medical examiners to hear cell phones of the dead go off, and I wonder if they just let it ring.
  • DaughterGeeding refuses to say “I don’t know” but will instead say “You say it.”
  • I’m too cheap to buy a new belt, but my favorite belt is now too loose around my waist, so I ended up just drilling a new hole in the belt.

  1. RPM says:

I've never seen an episode of The Wire or OZ. The premise just didn't sound interesting to me. Not having HBO at the time was a big factor, too. Now… I probably should watch it now just so I can understand all the pop culture references to it.
