Right after the ruling was announced CNN jumped the gun with an incorrectly breaking news banner saying the law was struck down only later to have the same banner lead with “CORRECTION” and an updated statement.
Foxnews.com played it smart and was the most cautious with breaking news on their website, after 25-minutes after the ruling, I only saw the website updated other than the breaking news banner that said: SUPREME COURT ABOUT TO RULE ON OBAMACARE — WATCH LIVE pic. But after 30-minutes their website was finally updated with the ruling. It’s good to report news quickly, but it’s better to report it correctly. Good job, Fox News, good job.
I personally believe this is a great day for the citizens of the United States. Thank you Chief Justice John Roberts and the other Justices who upheld the Affordable Health Care Act.

Regarding the ruling… I fear that it will ultimately hurt President Obama because it will further inflame and motivate conservatives to oust him. Sigh…

I think the confusion relates to the fact that the court found the individual mandate not enforceable under the commerce clause as it was argued. However, the individual mandate wasn't struck down since the government has the ability to collect tax. The problem, as it relates to the ousting of the current administration, is that the argument to the public all along has been that this is not a tax. They now have messaging problem. It'll be interesting for sure.
Speaking of a messaging problem, wasn't the individual mandate originally Mitt Romney's idea?

This is another example of the cost of Republican obstructionism.
The framework for 'Obama care' was developed in conservative think tank, the Heritage Foundation, implemented in Massachusetts by Republican Gov. Romney and generally supported by most Republicans and conservative pundits.
Newly elected President Obama used this model for Health care reform b/c of its bipartisan possibilities. Later, he realized that he would receive NO bipartisan support on any issue. Republicans openly declared the MOST important item on their agenda was making Obama a one-term president and feared successful HC reform would ensure Obama's re-election. Suddenly, their own HC reform plan, was Socialism! They opposed it hysterically and in doing so they severely deepened the divide in our country with extreme rhetoric.
Imagine what kind of Health care we would have today, if the Republicans had actually worked with Dems to create a better plan rather than being obstructionist. Imagine if they had only been more concerned with strengthening America than tearing it apart for the sake of politics.
Seems legit. no party-line rhetoric there. Republican-obstructionists are also racist.
