- P Diddy or Puff Daddy or whatever you want to call him has a son that just received a full athletic scholarship (football) to UCLA. Some folks think that he should not have received it because his father can easily afford the cost of college. I’m not sure where I stand on the issue but it’s good material for discussion.

Regarding Diddy's son, California is poised to make enormous cuts to the state's university system. This follows several years of making huge education cuts. The governor has a referendum on the November ballot to raise some taxes to save the state from having to make cuts to a $19 billion shortfall to the state's budget. If it weren't for this pending financial catastrophe this probably would not be an issue for debate.
I recently saw a graphic that shows that 70% of Koreans have a college degree. The U.S is low on the list of developed countries with college degrees. I am not sure what to think about this because some current college grads might be better off with vocational degrees rather than college degrees [and heavy student loan debt] that will never translate into decent jobs.
