Early morning, April 4, Shot rings out in the Memphis sky, Free at last, They took your life, They could not take your pride

The one thing that has always bother me about this song (that I happen to love so much) is that it’s historically inaccurate as the assassination happened early evening, not early morning.

I recently discovered this picture of Jackie Kennedy at MLK’s funeral with Corretta Scott King, I had no idea such a pic existed.  It’s really quite a touching photo if you think about it, two widowed women with young kids, married to perhaps the two most iconic men of the 60’s.

    Thanks for pointing out that inaccuracy, its always bothered me. I always thought that "early evening" could have fit in there if they tried.

    Would it have been accurate if he was in another time zone when the shooting occurred? lol
