Bag of Randomness

  • To start off a new sermon series, Fellowship Church had a performance of  “Lets Get It On” in church.
  • Tebowing on Flight 316
  • Beyonce and Jay Z sure seem to be taking a lot of heat for using a VIP suite at a hospital for the birth of their daughter.  I thought most big cities had hospitals that did the same thing, our hospital has something similar.  Of course we didn’t use it or will use it next month.
  • I don’t like The Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock in the same time slot.  Yes, I have a DVR and record one while watching the other, but I don’t like them competing for ratings.
  • I’ve been told I remember everything, but I think my high school and college transcripts prove otherwise.
  • A lot of folks appear upset that Dublin will no longer bottle Dr Pepper, even though Dr Pepper will continue to make a pure cane sugar variety.  If I recall correctly, Dublin violated an agreement that they could only sell within a certain territory and now Dr Pepper is being painted as a bad guy.
  • I’ve seen a lot of commercials for ABC’s The Bachelor and it appears they are scraping the bottom of the barrel in picking the bachelor.
  • There are a lot of rumors that Delta is going to make a run at buying American Airlines.
  • WifeGeeding discovered she’s missing the new season of Project Runway, and I think Heidi Klum is no longer part of the show.
  • Has Sarah Palin just been quiet about the current elections or has the media just started to ignore her?
  • Other than visiting presidential library and museums, I think I would like to check out the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Other than that, I’m not sure what else I would like to visit out there.  Well, maybe Graceland.
  • When it comes to cakes, I like them simple.  I don’t want any fancy fruits or coconut shavings or anything.  The most exotic kind of cake I would eat would be a yellow cake with chocolate icing.
  • Has Madonna got any work done?  I’m always bad at spotting those things.
  • I’ve always wondered how many days I could go without showering.
  • If Girl Scouts are going to sell cookies, they should at least bake them.
  • WifeGeeding and I are no longer sleeping in the same bed.  In her current ’rounded’ state she sleeps most comfortably in the recliner fully extended.  The dogs seem confused, but they try to split their time between us.
  • Despite living in Texas all my life, much less in a small rural town, I’ve never been to a stock show or a rodeo.
  • I have ridden a horse or two.

Besides museums you should try and visit Civil War balltlefields. You gain a apreciationof the ground and the courage of the men that fought on both sides.

Tell WGI not to worry. It's Project Runway All Stars and she's only missed two episodes which will repeat. Heidi and Tim aren't a part of it because the filming overlapped with the last season of project runway and they weren't able to manage the two shows. Tim and Heidi will back for the next season of Project Runway!!!

WOW – I can't believe it's already time for Baby to arrive! I hope everything goes smoothly with the birth and that your daughter transitions quickly. It took my daughter a half a day to adjust to the baby. But, once we allowed her to carry him (and she finally accepted), there was no separating those two! It's beautiful seeing that sibling bond!

  4. Stefanie says:

OH! After the summer (when WifeGeeding and Baby are bouncing around), lets all go to the Ft. Worth Livestock Rodeo. Antonio can guide you through the entire event and my kids will have plenty to say, as well.

If you make it to the Memphis area and endure Graceland, at least treat your stomach to some Gus' Fried Chicken… served hot and spicy direct from the cooker; it is a true "joint", but the chicken is ever so good. Yes, you should try some Memphis style pork BBQ, but Gus' rocks (located in the Downtown Memphis area you could also check out Beale Street for some blues music)…

Have to go to Beall street & see the ducks at the Peabody Hotel, I think like 2 little shows a day as they parade them up and down the elevator to the fountain!

Thanks for making that point about the Dublin Dr. Pepper dispute. I've been asking that question all week.
