A 1-year-old girl died Sunday afternoon after she was apparently left for several hours inside a hot vehicle while her father was at church, according to Miramar police.
Kimberly James was found about 3:15 p.m., after services ended at Holiness Born Again Church, 6452 Pembroke Rd., police spokeswoman Tania Rues said. She was 14 months old.
Her father had brought her to church. After services ended, he walked back to his vehicle only to discover he had left Kimberly inside, Rues said.
Investigators believe Kimberly was in the vehicle for about three hours.
