I'm not entirely sure she said she was pro-choice. It sounded to me that she was saying she didn't want to get the press in a tizzy on Inauguration Day by suggesting a Supreme Court ruling should be over turned.
Either way, Barbara Bush was also vocal about some social issues after 41 left office. I think it's nice seeing how both were respectful of their husband's political concerns at an appropriate time, but also are capable of having strong views with civil discourse.
