Evangelical leader takes on Beck for assailing social justice churches

An evangelical leader is calling for a boycott of Glenn Beck’s television show and challenging the Fox News personality to a public debate after Beck vilified churches that preach economic and social justice.

The Rev. Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners, a network of progressive Christians, says Beck perverted Jesus’ message when he urged Christians last week to leave churches that preach social and economic justice.

Beck told his audience that they should leave churches that preach “economic and social justice.” Wallis says Beck compared those churches to Communists and Nazis.

Wallis says at least a thousand people have already responded to his call to boycott Beck. He says Beck is confusing his personal philosophy with the Bible.

i'm with you fox watcher; Beck IS right !!!!!!!!!! people just don't get it…….

    • Fox Watcher says:

Amen!!! Even the Bible supports what he is saying. Show me or tell me where the Bible states that there will be social and economic justice in this world in our day. It actually says the opposite. Beck is right on the money, and should be President.

  2. Beck watcher says:

Why don't you quote the verses along with the context where our Lord and Savior preached
    social Justice.

Please tell me everyone is joking here!!!

I think Glen Beck is in the same class of Osama bin Laden.

  5. Gregg says:

Oh k? I still don't see where it said, " Let the government take your money and give it to whomever they deem in need." In fact it says the opposite. "For I was hungry and YOU gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and YOU gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and YOU invited me in, I needed clothes and YOU clothed me, I was sick and YOU looked after me, I was in prison and YOU came to visit me.'" It is the responsibility of the individuals (YOU) heart and soul to be kind and charitable.
