NYC Health Anti-Soda Ad-Man Drinking Fat

Disgusted? Most people don’t realize how easy it is to gain weight from drinking sugary sodas, juice drinks, sport drinks and sweetened tea and coffee drinks. Just one 20-ounce bottle of soda can pack 250 calories and more than 16 teaspoons of sugar. Is the lemon-flavored iced tea any better? Not by much with 210 calories and 14½ teaspoons of sugar. Sugar-sweetened beverages add hundreds of calories to your diet each day. Don’t drink yourself fat. Try water. Its good. Please tell us what you think of this video by taking a short survey at http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/cdp/cdp_pan_youtube_survey.shtml.

Sickening but very effective. I only drink diet now. What drove me away from regular sodas was the thought of someone shoveling eight spoonfuls of sugar into it before handing it to me.

    Oh Dan, no.
Diet soda is just as unhealthy, wherein you're not eating sugar, you're eating chemicals that are replacing a natural ingredient. This is not better. Our bodies know how to digest sugar, our bodies do not know how to digest complex chemicals and they end up storing them to become fat or worse, cancer.
Please do a Google search for "health diet soda" or something of the like.

I think people are slowly waking up to realize the saying "You are what you eat" means a lot more than they thought. What am I? High fructose corn syrup? Partially hydrogenated oil? Aspertame?
I'm slooooowly adjusting my diet to get off of the hard stuff (soda, french fries, frozen dinners) after having friends kick deadly auto-immune diseases by going vegan, and better, raw vegan!

I'm no where near there yet, but I never would've even thought about it if someone hadn't challenged the way I eat.
Sorry for the soap-box rant!! Like NBC says…The More You Know… lol
