Bag of Randomness

  • There have now been two Cowboys games that were played in the new stadium with the roof open during the daytime.  I was wondering if there would be any weird shadows cast on the field with the screen and all, after all, that was one problem with Texas Stadium.  But it appears that the field is so far below ground level (three stories) that it really isn’t a problem.  There are some small lights spots from the windows, but overall the field looks great during the afternoon with the roof open.
  • How is it I didn’t hear a thing about about the second half of the game being broadcasted in 3-D on the Jerry-tron?
  • I’m surprised Jerry wasn’t on the field when Ware got hurt, and it was almost comical when CBS showed Jerry with both hands over his face during the injury.
  • Personally, I would rather see Jason Garret gone before Wade Phillips.  Fourth and one on the goal and you want linemen to pull?
  • I think I miss Texas Stadium.
  • “I would turn in all three Super Bowl rings and my Hall of Fame bust for one undefeated season.” Michael Irvin
  • I wonder if there are any kids that attend an NFL game for the first time that are surprised the yellow first down doesn’t really display on the field.  It’s kind of hard to believe we’ve had that line now for over a decade.
  • There’s just something about the NFL cheerleader in the Santa outfits, but the Cowboys Cheerleaders’ outfits don’t look quit right.
  • My latest addiction is Einstein Bros bagels.  I love it that they call their cream cream “shmear.”
  • James Cameron’s Avatar sure does look interesting and I’m glad someone is actually bringing something original to the movie screen.
  • I was talking to the manager who mentioned that a Einstein Bros store somewhat recently opened in Tyler and on its first day sold over $7,000 in bagels.  That’s a lot of bagels.
  • AskMen.com has compiled the top ten video game weapons – I’m glad to see that the Contra Spread Gun made the list, but was surprised there was no Halo entries.
  • Speaking of Halo, check out this review – I recommend watching it in HD.

when i first moved to NC, i took bagels to a breakfast after our Easter sunrise service…they laughed and called them Yankee biscuits. i loved it…and 17 years later…i still call them that.

Thanks for reminding me about Einstein's. When I used to work in downtown Dallas I would swing buy on the way to work and get something to take with me. I haven't worked downtown in years and sort of forgot about how good some of their sandwiches are. I'm going to swing by this p.m.

I agree with you about Jason Garret. Opposing teams keep talking about how predictable they are. For some reason when they enter the red zone they become paralyzed. And excessive penalties are generally blamed on a lack of discipline.

I've been counting down the days to Avatar for months now. I'm even pondering an afternoon off so I can see it before the masses. I find it interesting that Cameron's had this movie in his head for many years. He wanted to create it as the follow up to Titanic but the technology was insufficient.

I have the Fart Proudly book… it's actually a really good book. Lol.
