It’s also sonogram day for WifeGeeding. To say she is excited is an understatement.
For the longest time when it came to my faith, I felt that I always had to have an answer, not necessarily a yes or a no, but some sort of firm answer. Now, I’m OK with not knowing and enjoy the journey of research, discovery, and appreciating several different points of view, even if I disagree with them. But I have a feeling several people in my past would be disappointed in me. With that said, I really appreciate those of you that took the time to answer my Paul question yesterday.
If you read the comments on that Paul post yesterday, you’ll understand why I call George, BibleScholarGeorge. I’m lucky to have him in my life. The same goes with Brent, whose insight I always find valuable, I just need to think of a nickname for him.
Sometimes when I throw out a faith or theological question, I really ponder what some of my friends/readers think, but most of the time they just hold back.
I use to fear what people would think of me when I throw out a faith or theological question or observation.
Much like everyone else, I think Tiger and his wife got in a fight. She freaked out, Tiger tried to drive away, and as he drove out, his wife in a fit of rage smashed a window in his SUV which distracted him, which caused him to crash his vehicle at a low rate of speed. Those facial lacerations could be him hitting the steering wheel or a plate flying at him.
The Secret Service and the White House Social Secretary both deserve equal blame for letting that fame seeking couple in the State Dinner. With that said, that Social Secretary seems like she’s not really taking her job very seriously, as if she was more focused on the glitz and glamor of event rather than doing her job.
I’m not sure how I feel about President Obama sending more troops to Afghanistan, I guess I’ll have a better understanding once he addresses the nation. However, I do like he wasn’t rushed to a decision no matter how pressured he was to do so. Those decisions aren’t easy. Heck, I work in project management and it’s amazing how much planning and resources goes into a three month project, I can only imagine what it’s like to send an additional 35,000 more troops.
The Bush administration was labeled stubborn for not changing course or being influenced by public opinion. I think the same can be said for the Obama administration in a lot of ways, such as the time it took Obama to make this decision. That decision is going to shake up his base of supporters, but I wonder what his critics think.
It seems weird that Bobby Bowden doesn’t get a “final season,” but college football is a bid’ness.
It’s funny how some people just end up on the right team. Pierre Thomas – that name just fits a player in New Orleans.
In my lifetime I bet I will see the elimination of chains and field measurements in the NFL. Eventually a laser grid will cover the field and they will be able to detect the position of the ball, which won’t have a chip, but have some kind of special coating.
It’s interesting to watch old highlights of the NFL and not seed graphics on the field such as the yellow first down marker or down or distance.
I have a lack of faith in my Cowboys, but it sure is fun to watch the Vikings and Saints play. And it’s always fun to see New England lose.
The more Bill Belichick goes for it on fourth down and doesn’t convert, the more he will lose the confidence in his team.
My favorite coach as of late is Sean Payton.
I love being an adult so much more than a teen.
Whoever wrote the Budweiser Christmas music that has been playing for as long as I can remember sure did a good job.
I use to force myself not to like or laugh at beer commercials because I viewed that industry as nothing more than sin.
I am excited about the sonogram, too. Hope Kelsey is feeling okay. And I totally agree, anytime the Patriots lose it's fine with me. No one I know including me, would want to live under the same spotlight that Tiger Woods lives under.
I don't really like the new format. Kinda like when that orange juice (forget the name) changed its logo and it started looking generic. This one doesn't pop for me. Not enough color. Otherwise, love the blog!

How did WG's sonogram go yesterday??? I have my "big" one (20 week where we find out the gender) tomorrow! Its always an amazing experience to see your little baby moving around in those early months!

I don't care much what format you use (though I like the new one) because I, too, come here for the content.
I tend not to comment on theological posts because I think everyone believes different things, and noone is right or wrong for holding those beliefs. I'm not going to change someone's mind by postulating my beliefs, so I generally just accept what others say because hey, they have a right to believe whatever they want. I tend to refrain from political and religious arguments- there is never a winner, and it only makes both parties frustrated (assuming we disagree). So why bother?

Bullet point #3….I've always looked at my faith as a journey………Having accepted what Jesus did for me, I am growing from what I don't understand and cannot answer,( just accept "in faith" ) until I am w/ God and His thoughts are mine and I no longer have questions. May be rather simplistic, but as I understand the scripture………" by faith we understand".
