Yesterday morning I woke up and turned on the television to our local Fox station for a little news on traffic and weather when I learned that Senator Kennedy died. After the segment on Kennedy, that silly bobble-head graphic for “Tell It to Tim” (a viewer call-in line) along with its goofy music immediately followed. Stay classy, KDFW.
When I first saw the news inputting viewer opinions either by voicemail or email, I thought it was a good idea since you got to see different perspectives; and heck, some of them were actually entertaining. Now I think it’s just part of the dumbing down of America.
I thought the news organizations were going to start calling the Swine Flu the H1N1 virus, but all I hear of late is Swine Flu.
You know you aren’t living a healthy lifestyle when you start your day with donuts and end the day with chicken fried steak. Yup, that happened yesterday.
I always like to understand the meaning behind a person’s email address. Some are quite easy to figure out, but sometimes I just have to ask people how did they come up with their username.

I miss reading the Wall Street Journal. I got it free where I use to work everyday. And I always liked the pictures in the WSJ since they are nothing more than hand drawn dot drawings.

I noticed the other day that when I brush my teeth, I always start in the place place in my mouth. I wonder if the teeth in that area are cleaner than the rest.
Whenever I meet an adult from my youth one of my initial thoughts is that I remember them being so much taller or bigger.
A church line I use to often hear if someone thought they wronged another, “I need to ask for forgiveness.” While I understand the intent, that line sounds so manufactured. A “I need to tell Jimi I’m sorry” sounds so much more sincere.
When I think of Ted Kennedy, I don’t think about his legislative career or his mistakes, I think of family and hardship. I can’t imagine going through the losses he went through. He lost his oldest brother Joe when he was 12, his sister Kathleen at 16, and of course his two brothers in his thirties to assassination of all things. Combine that with the loss of nephews and others as well as his son’s poor health, that’s some pretty sad stuff for a man to experience.
Imagine, both of your brothers who are public figures, who have children, are assassinated, and then as an uncle you automatically become somewhat of a father figure whether you like it or not.
Imagine having the honor of walking your nieces down the isle knowing the only reason you are doing so is because your brother was shot dead.
In all, he escorted the bride six times, counting his daughter.
The eulogy he gave for his brother Bobby is perhaps the most touching eulogy I have ever heard, and your heart can’t help but break as you hear him start to tear up.
Whether you liked his views or not, the man was one heck of an orator.
The only brother to not die from a crash or a bullet.
In case you are wondering, only one sibling survives, and that’s Jean Kennedy Smith.
Some people think that Ted immediately succeeded his brother’s Senate seat, but that’s not true. Someone else was between the two brothers.
It should would be interesting to see him in the middle of the healthcare debate.
