This reminds me of the movie "2001" which has been running on cable the last few weeks. In 1968 Arthur C. Clark envisioned that by 2001 Pan Am would be operaiting routine passenger flights to an enormous space station; that there would be largescale mining operations on the surface of the moon; and that NASA would be able to launch a huge space vehicle, complete with artificial gravity, to explore the moons of Jupiter.
